    Hey HipForums!

I've been browsing this site for a long time now but only recently decided to subscribe because of this new project I'm working on. It's a Psychedelic blog with the same name as the thread title. Basically what I'm aiming for is combining all of the info I've gather through experience, articles read, documentaries watched, trip reports, forum browsing, books, etc... I wanted it to be as comprehensive as possible, similar to Erowid but more simple with everything spelled out right in front of you.

It's only now in it's infancy but I'm looking for helpful feedback, ideas, and constructive criticism! Thanks in advance! Also, I'll be posting a lot on here now, since I browse practically every day but only now got around to registering. :2thumbsup: Peace n Love.

I don't think you can simplify tripping too far. If you do, it doesn't mean anything. Anyone who is going to trip properly and really learn from it is going to need some patience.

I agree, it's impossible really put the experience into words no matter how hard you try to wrestle and innovate with the language. But ever since I've begun experimenting with these substances I've been trying to figure out a way to somehow get them into words. It's an incredible challenge but I find it fun. I'm not far enough yet to really get into that yet though. I'm passionate about these substances so I wanted to create something that is both entertaining and a reasonably valuable resource for those interested in these substances. The forums seemed like a good place to start out.

I'm just saying that I don't think trying to abridge the cataloging on psychedelics, their uses, effects, or pretty much any other aspect, will help anyone.

"you'll feel funny and see shit, remember that it's just a drug and not one that can hurt you, enjoy thinking about the nature of the universe, happy landing"

Look at that, I just did it. I think that says everything about psychedelics that can be said without using many many many more words, really.... either do it right or not at all.

Not trying to be a jerk. Of course there's a sweet spot in length/content, readability, etc, but I don't think trying to make it shorter and basically dumb down tripping is a good idea.

I think it's a great idea, some form of teaching people never introduced to the experience to have easy access to the information they need! One problem I seem to face however, is it gets really personal. Sometimes I think about this site and the people on it, and I feel like people tend to stop posting there trip reports because it gets too personal. That and they don't feel like anything really "new" is worth sharing.

I don't know, it's a great idea for people who haven't experienced it I feel. Do take into consideration to share that is revolves more around the user too. I think LSD does actually have some negative sides in the sense of how much it makes you think. You get so far up your own head, you have to be cautious of reality, you need to be able to bring something back to the world, otherwise your just a brain in a jar watching pretty colors when it could mean and be so much more. It's a risk and reward factor that must be taking into consideration, and you really only get out what you put in.

It's driven me crazy with thoughts. And though I don't regret doing it, I sometimes wonder what I was like before I did it, even though it wasn't so long ago.

One thing I love about reading trip reports and in hearing others describe their trips is how they describe what happened to them. Every so often you'll see a description that fits so perfectly with something you were never able to think how to describe before, and as a creative writer I find this helpful. But also I just love hearing about other peoples trips! It just fascinates me. So I created this as a creative outlet and hopefully a research tool.
