Why not answer it? If to sin is to miss the sign of god, how can believing in sin be the truth? The sign of god is the truth, not sin.

Is sin the sign of jehovah?

Who made the rules in the first place?

Are you Mormon or something? If what you say is true, then God is not the ultimate omnipotent being that is presented, there is the potential for something even bigger and better and that is the universe itself. Thank's for further validating my pantheism :)

If a parent leaves a loaded gun in the middle of the room to illustrate their point, that is one shitty parent.

I have no idea what kind of discussion might emerge from your answer to this question. The only debate I have with you on words at the moment is "god's name". You have presented your belief about gods name by identifying three different forms, yet you claim that god is to be known by one only for all time.
I have asked you to explain yourself on this issue but you offer none. Regardless, my question remains, what were you taught by jesus about what is said of him in scripture?

Three different forms? God's name is Jehovah, what are you taking about?
    Prophecies dealing with the Messiah’s rejection, suffering, death, and resurrection. (Isa 53:3, 5, 12; Ps 16:10; Mt 16:21-23; 17:22, 23; Lu 24:21; Joh 12:34; 20:9)

Is god to be known for all time as a four letter hebrew glyph called tetragrammaton, or is he to be known as yaweh, offered as the hebrew pronunciation of that four letter glyph, or is it jehovah the english translation of yaweh? If the name is profoundly important as you suggest then it seems it should be spoken as god originally spoke it. If we can legitimately translate the name then it's form is meaningless. If it is as you say then the name should be spoken in the original four hebrew letters if such a thing can indeed be done. I don't know what those four characters in hebrew when written that way sound like, do you? Certainly they cannot sound like jehovah because you can't get three syllables out of four consonants only.
    [/QUOTE]
Yes you offer these prophecies but my question was what did jesus teach you concerning everything written about him in the scriptures. The quotes from matthew luke and john, were not scriptures that had been written about him.

I tell you jesus taught that he must go that the comforter may come, not for blood payment required from god for your sins. Further as I have explained before and as it states in the book itself things were done in order 'to fulfill", what was written. In other words many people were involved in orchestrating the "passion play". Arrangements were made, deals were cut, plans were carried out.

science explains the universe without god, soon the only place for god to hide will be in the mind of science illiterates and the mentally ill.

science is a way of thinking more so than the body of knowlege it holds -- science holds no personal ambitions.

evolution created the first living forms, we evolved from our primate relatives we know this by intermediate fossil records and the sequences in the nucleic acids, evolution takes Billions and billions of years

we also know that planets are formed by star dust condensed by its own gravity. all this stuff created by the big bang

e=mc^2 vise versa nothingness requires more energy creating the singularity and ...anti-mass and anti-energy create vacuum fluctuations still to this day we call this event

Δt -e ∞ results in a particle that exists for a limited time

during our big bang the nothingness expressed itself creating new particles

    H= -Σ pk log pk
    e^iπ =-1

Higgs Boson explains the mass and can be it opposition

Without god there would be not universe for your science to explain.

explain that to the scientists that have falsified their findings to gain recognition.

It has always amazed me that a person would prefer to worship nothingness rather than God but then there are none so blind as those who will not see.

    thedope to OWB:
Yes, though this teaching was not the whole truth ( despite his going ) and was given to comfort his believers, for how could they reconcile themselves to his death? Jesus knew that he was comforter, it was his fate to know that his enemies did not.

OWB has only the option ( outside of his belief itself ) of facing that his belief is mistaken. It must be hard with so much pride at stake! ;D

    Where did God come from?

Explain it to the Christians who shoved anal pears inside people to get them to believe in the power of Christ.

It amazes me people want to worship a fairy tale to make them feel better about the fact that they will die someday rather than reality (actually, not really)

    Let me jump in.

Why would he have to come from anywhere? The universe could have always been but there is evidence to show the opposite.

I don't understand why it's appears easier for some to believe that the universe came from nothing than a universe that came from an infinite and sentient God. You believe the space shuttle can assemble itself. I don't.

A perfect being always existing then creates the universe makes more sense than either the universe creating itself (pretty silly) or the universe always existing.

Ugh the retarded watch argument. The universe that we know today didn't just randomly assemble itself: evolution is the explanation.

You see nothing silly about believing in a "perfect being" (whatever that means) that you have no proof of existing creating everything with his magical power than the universe always having been? I see great logic in the universe being a paradoxical ouroborus.

There was never nothing, it always was and always be. That is why I am a pantheist God is the universe "Alpha and Omega" the bible like all other holy books are just metaphors by holy men using the culture and traditions of their times to translate their mystical experiences.

And frankly I'm willing to admit it might be something else all together, even if that isn't the answer it is intellectual laziness to just jump to the conclusion "God did it" it is a great beauty in itself that scientist work towards discovering the answer with no bias, to simply know. That is more awesome than the minuscule petty God described in the bible.

What is called "science" today is anything but "unbiased". Both the scientific and the educational community today are heavily influenced by politics, and discourse over "intelligent design" is actively disallowed. Professional scientists, professors, and even journalists are losing their jobs, their tenure, their livelihood over this, for merely mentioning ID.

It's heavily biased in favor of Darwinism, when even Darwin was considered an "outsider" in his time. His teachings, in today's atmosphere, would not have had a chance, if things were the same then.

He had no clue of the complexity of things, even concerning cellular structure.

For one cell to be "alive", at least 240 proteins all have to be lined up and working in the right order. The chances of this happening from "primordial soup" are in the trillionths.

"Evolution" is just a word, with a convenient theory attached. No real thinking involved.

Darwin never really explained "The Origin". He only came up with a theory as to the possibility of a gradual, natural process.

Interestingly, people who believe in eugenics also base it on Darwin's theory. It held strong favor amongst the Nazis, with their ideas about genetic favoritism.

Excellent point! I can dig this antihippy. I've always known I need more then one religion experience. There's a lot of good spirituality in the world that has developed over the ages. Why stick to one book or one definition of 'God'? I'd luv to see a new 'world religion' that takes the best from multiple religions.

I seriously hope you are trolling and don't actually believe this. Copying and pasting stuff that has been discounted about a billion times before makes me sad. I'm too tired to address all this garbage point by point right now, hopefully someone else will do it.

Anyways you can start by explaining to us the science behind intelligent design. What are the physics behind God's magical powers? "OK class, the answer is God blinked his eyes and wiggled his nose and everything just was; have a nice day now USA USA USA"

Unitarian Universalist fit the bill; but there is no strict ideology the spiritual seeking is left up to the individual. Which really is as it should be there is no one size fits all religion, we all have different needs.

They get accused of being the satanic religion in revelation though. Tolerance and understanding = Satan to fundamentalist Christians, which is very sad.

The truth is that were co-creators in this reality with God. Were given gifts, and we do with them what we please as imperfect, limited beings. The key is to transcend ego and to understand why we should accept God's gifts and use them to our fullest advantage. Humanity and this world is sick. Its the greatest act of love for others and for God to do what's right. Jesus was a man, who had all the temptations that every human faces (those of domination and fear), and transcended them in the wilderness and on the cross.

He spread love and compassion for humanity even though he was crucified for his effort. That's what he meant by "pick up your cross and follow me". If everyone spread peace and love, and didn't buckle under the pressure of the world system, that titan, who's power is all based in greed, fear, spite, anger, etc, would all crumble. The world system is us and were it. If we change ourselves, it'll change.

In the grand scheme of things, all this pain that we suffer through gives more meaning to the absolute truth of reality, and that's love. Whether we realize it or not because of our thick egos, we're all interconnected, and love is the realization of our inter-relationship to God and the whole of creation.

Evolution describes that everything pretty much assembled themselves using whatever laws were available; bit like a tornado. It still follows the laws that generates a tornado but still a tornado. At least I'm not the one who thinks the human mind and the mysteries of subjective experience came about by a happy accident. :)

There is plenty of proof and faith is in no way blind. (Ats 17:11, Heb 11:1). Yes God is a perfect being and there is nothing 'magical' about God only which we currently don't understand but one day will. We only call it magic because we don't know better. I think you could appreciate that.

If you want to take their word for it then it wasn't just a translation of 'mystical' experiences but those moved by the holy spirit like a poet being moved by a muse. I once dabbled in pantheism, namely Hinduism, but in the end it was the teachings of the blood, the water, and the spirit that lead me away from that belief. (1 John 5:8)

I don't believe that exploring is in anyway wrong, btw.

As opposed to what? Nothing did it? Talk about intellectual laziness.

No biased scientists? Human's are imperfect and all scientists are humans, you figure out the rest.

And no there is nothing petty about a merciful and loving God or the erroneous projections many place on him. So merciful in fact that he gave his only begotten son to save us from ourselves :)
