Pearl Jam: A latter day version of the Rolling Stones?

Any Pearl Jam fans out there? I've loved them from the beginning and view their entire body of work as approaching the stature of the Rolling Stones. Opions? Thoughts?

Pearl Jam's 20th anniversary is this year. Eddy is currently touring in Australia then he's coming back to record an album with the rest of the guys.

I strongly disagree.
Personally, I find them NOTHING like the Rolling Stones. The Stones will forever be in a league of their own.

 

Pearl Jam definitely deserves to have their own page set aside from the rest of the stuff that came out in the early nineties. They have grown and evolved and rocked all the while. One of the only bands whose shows are always different and more awesome from the last time I saw them. 20 years is a long time. I love PJ.

I just finished watching a documentary on them. I always thought they were a pretty important band. I know there was some kind of Nirvana verses Pearl Jam type bullshit going on, but realistically, Nirvana was just as guilty of being mainstream as Pearl Jam. Who gives a fuck - they were both significant players in the grunge thing, whatever the fuck that was. I think PJ was and remains pretty damn good. I only saw them play once and that was in a huge arena, but Vedder is going to go down in music history among rock's greatest vocalists. Of course, Phish is still the most important thing to happen to music in the 90's. Phish and Radiohead.
