i guess when you do that, it's called 'lucid dream' isn't it? not sure though...

...but in some dreams, during some very weird happenings i kind of think to myself 'isn't that stupid huh?' but i dont realize i'm in a dream, i just realize it's a weird situation... not all the times though, most of the times the dreams is totally fucked up and looks so real at the time.. haha

read this thread all the way through if you want to attempt it yourself. Still have questions afterwards? Then feel free to ask me questions

OP Most dreams are under an unconscious state, meaning you don't realize it's a dream. It's simply life. When you allow your conscious mind to awake during this state you can live freely within in yourself without being bound by physics or society. This is known as lucid dreaming. The idea that this realm is a dream has been theorized many times, but even if that were the case, that does not permit certain freedoms. If I kill someone in my dream (say I were playing GTA for real) I can dream tomorrow and see a person I've killed, so there is no real impact. But if I were to kill someone in this realm, I visit it again and it has effects. So even if this realm were someones dream, it isn't okay to twist your morals accordingly.

mostly i can't. a dream is a reality for me while it's going on. i've had a couple of lucid dreams for my 28 years, and that's really about 2-3 altogether. so it's safe to say it doesn't happen to me at all. however i was able to deduct i was dreaming in a dream once. i was pulling on a shirt i own in real life, and it was harder to do than i remembered, also i noticed couldn't really feel my arms. and from that i deducted i must be dreaming, which was correct. but it wasn't what you would call a lucid dream.

I've also had 2 out-of-body experiences during dreaming (those 2 are among my 2-3 lucid dreams), where i willed myself out of my body in the dream and floated above it. it was really cool, but i haven't been able to repeat it. it happened during an emotionally stressful time, and since that is not the norm for me i guess it explains why i can't do it under normal circumstances.

that's how it usually is for me. i can rarely control my dream or anything like that, but i notice things that don't fit and just realize that i'm dreaming all the time. the closest i can normally come to control in that situation is waking myself up if it gets too uncomfortable.

the out of body experience you had while "dreaming" was actually astral projection

well, i'm not sure what the hell an 'astral projection' is, but i never thought i was actually outside my body when that was going on. it was a dream. a dream about being outside the body while simultaneously remembering that i was asleep.

when i dream i'm in a totally real other universe. where everything is clear, unambiguous, and works just fine. some things work differently then they do here. and of course it isn't here. yes i'm as aware that these are two different universes when i'm in that one when i am when i'm in this. i don't see either as being more or less then the other. i don't see either as directly effecting the other. they are just two different places to live and experience and do things.

this universe is the one i wake up in when i go to sleep in that one. just as that one is when i go to sleep here.
