This shit is getting dire and while I like the efforts of the OWS, I think the passive approach may just have about run it's course.

Ironic sort of as your Country has more or less effectively peppered every square meter with security cameras. (I'm sure they're here too, just not as openly acknowledged.)

 

I was raised in a hunter family enviroment (dads side). I went to NRA training. I was never a big hunter but I loved guns. So much so that over the coarse of many years I've bought a shit ton of guns and ammo. Most all of the ammo was spent shooting cans and bottles, etc during those years.

I only have two guns now and very little ammo. All of those other guns I had were sold privately or traded for something. I don't go shooting anymore. I just keep what I have for home security.

How much you wanna bet I'm on the guns and ammo hoarder list anyway, as they have no record of me getting rid of any of it.

 

I'd put money on it, but then this is the Federal Governmnet we're dealing with so for sake of their ineptitude you may very well luck out and they'll accidentally raid and kill your neighbors entire household instead of yours.

I just re-read the linked article to my husband and I'm pissed off all over again. This ridiculousness makes people who have been camping, and smell like campfire, who go into the store to buy supplies, sound suspicious. Not right at all.

Eh it can come in handy if you're trying to dig into limestone,,, that was my interest in it, didnt want full blown blasting powder as I wasnt looking to pulverize anything, just exert enough force to cause a cross grain split in a series of 3/4"x3' hole's. But folks might look at me with a raised brow because I wanted to utilize natural resources on family land for building purposes.

I mean if I had a blackpowder firearm I may have tried some out, mixed right however I could have made a nice rock salt / non-lethal defense device with some black pipe and careful experimentation to get a safe charge,,, but I digress...

 

We've seen the ineptitude of the US government during Hurricane Katrina and in Canada during the massive power outage during which many died.

We need to keep right on doing what we are doing: laying aside provisions for our families and forming a communications grid and supply web among proactive citizens.

I am not a right-wing survivalist, I just recognize that for all its promises and efforts, government is ill-prepared for major disasters, economic chaos, fuel shortages, etc.

The more of us who are prepared and the more we work in tandem, the better and faster the recovery will be.

Ignore both goverment paranoia and sales propaganda from supply stores, just do what your common sense tells you to prepare for a rainy day. Folks have been doing that very thing down through the ages.

But yes, it would help when you go to the polls to vote against left and right wing nanny state control freaks and right wing corporate sellouts. But beware of some of the Libertarians that are touted as our "saviors" from tyranny. Being a corporate slave is just as bad as being a slave to our government.

Defenders of liberty must be vigilant and wise to such deception.
Just because you are accused of being paranoid does not mean that all of them are not out to rob you of your liberty! There are many who would profit handsomely from the loss of your freedom.

Ended up just using hand tools and came to find my sonofabitch neighbor took it all after I left,,, that's ok, it pissed off my Granny to no end who I hear was looking to con another relative into building her pathways with it.
