Hey guys I got some questions for the more experienced canna butter makers lol. I have gone through the process a few times of making the butter but I am wondering about some factors that could effect the potency of the butter.

Last time when I made butter I used 1/2 ounce of medium grade pot for 1/2 lbs of butter and I let the butter simmer for about 90 minutes while watching it so it wouldnt burn. I am mainly wondering if letting it cook longer will increase the strength of the butter and also if there is a "best" temperature to keep the butter at? Also is there a limit on how much thc the butter can absorb? I just dont want to use not enough butter and then basically waste good weed :)

I tried the search function and couldnt find anything but any input is appreciated :(!

i've always cooked my butter for a minimum of 2 hours... and i end up with some potent ass butter.. example of this is using a 1/4oz to make 50 mini peanut butter cups.. each cup could plant anyone that ate them

i personally think youre not using enough bud, or using too much butter, or not eating enough butter at once.. haha.

ive always heard it takes something like 10x more weight to get the same high from eating thc, and i see that when i eat high doses. it's like your vision is basically smudged between +1 hours and +5. like memory lapses with like vapor trail recalls of those lapses.. i don't like to just take a tiny bit and wonder if im getting the effect, id rather do the really active levels. cooking it longer seems like it could help, like joker said. i'd say higher doses though.

people who use plant matter instead of taking the time to make butter/oil are gonna need 10x as much marijuana because they are doing it wrong... people can say what they want about just dumping the marijuana in and having success.. but its no where near as efficient as making butter... if done right you should be able to end up with the majority of the thc content in your butter... i also use a candy thermometer with my butter and make sure my butter does not get hotter than 180-200F... i just want my bud to decarb so that it absorbs properly into the fats of the butter/oil/lard that im using... if you wanna make sure you got all the thc possible.. after straining your weed out of your first batch.. you could always make a second batch.. using about 1/2 as much butter as you did the first time around.. and get out any leftovers to be sure you're getting the best bang for your buck
