whats the matter with being white???

I look goofy with much of a tan, so I don't consciously go out and try to get one. Sometimes I'm outside more than others, so sometimes it just happens. But I embrace my ghostly-whiteness wholeheartedly. The tanning bed thing freaks me out, though. I've never been in one and probably never will be.

I think their horrible and wish they could be illegal.. Theres nothing good that comes out of them if people are gunna be tan they should try it out in the sun... Its not as bad for your skin.

I am actually naturally tan.. theres people that adore my color. I don't understand why people can't be happy with the way they are.

Like my mom shes already pretty much naturally tan but she lays out in the sun and tans... it makes no sense to me.

 

I don't tan, I will forever be pale unless I use fake tan - which I never once have.

I am used to it now; this is how I am and I have to put up with it.

Why would you spray melatonin on your skin, dude? Melatonin is a sleep hormone, melanin is skin pigment. Big difference.

 

I'm Celtic with reddish hair and have light freckles so I don't tan that much. The only reason I tan is because I like laying in the sun, its feels good and I get vitamin D. In the winter I get pasty white but I don't think it looks bad. Some people don't produce extra melanin (not just albinos) and as long as they are healthy I never think they don't go outside. If they're scrawny or fat I might think that.

I dunno what people's thing is about getting tan...I look at it like this: varying with your ethnicity, a summer tan looks healthy...a very pale nordic/celtic person does not look unhealhty to me at all. Seriously I wouldn't worry about other people 's vanity or issues with skin tone.

I like tanning because my skin turns from Beyoncé tinted to Will Smith coloured.

 

There’s nothing wrong with being white my melanin challenged friend it’s just that sometimes you folks look so white it almost unhealthy.

I am super pale and I have absolutely no problem with it. And people comment on it and feel sorry for me because my skin is white... definitely annoys me. There is no reason to feel sorry for me and it is just silly for someone to think that there is something wrong with my natural skin color.

I do go outside a lot, but I just don't tan even if I laid out in the sun all day I would still be super white. Also, the climate here is foggy all the time so it is not easy to tan naturally.

As it relates to females, I enjoy brown or black, but using light to darken pale skin is just ugly, pale is quite nice on it's own.

As it relates to guys, I don't give a fuck, they can burn all the cancer into their skin that they have a mind to.

yeah true. but my opinion is my opinion and I think people who bake themselves under some cancer lights to change their skin color is stupid. my opinion is someone should be happy with the way they are born. same thing with people who get plastic surgery to change their nose or their cheek bone structure. It is something I do not agree with. unless someone is deformed and looks like a monster or something then they should be fine with how they are. I even think boob jobs are stupid haha. I think natural is best.

exactly how I was thinking about. people make comments about my skin all the time and I am like what the heck people chill. I am comfortable with the skin color I am born with.

 

michael jackson had it right. he chose correctly. these white people nowadays are choosing the wrong color

 

i get that people should be happy with what they were born with, and as right as that souns, some people just aren't...

...i mean, some people cant help but rather have a darker skin or a different hairstyle or a piercing whatever...

i think its right for one to go and do whatever they feel like with their body to 'improve their look' if that makes them happier or more secure...

...i dont care what people do with their bodies, and as its their bodys, they should be able to do anything they want with it ... so if they want, why is it wrong?

 

yeah I don't care people can do whatever they want. but I still have my opinion haha. I think certain hair styles are stupid, certain dress styles are stupid, certain tatoos are stupid. I have my thoughts about stuff ya know haha. I am a nice guy I won't make a big deal about. but say if I was back in high school and I knew some chick who sprays on tan everyday I might laugh at her and give her a little shit for it but that is all haha. nothing serious just fun. I can be goofy and laugh about stuff and poke fun about something.

It all boils down to fashion. When women used to dress covered from head to toe except for their face, it was considered unfashionable to get a tan or freckles on the face, so they all wore bonnets.

Then women started hiking up their dresses and going to the beach, and someone decided that women with tanned skin look better. Unfortunately this trend lasted a while.

Then people began to learn more about skin cancer, and fashion magazines started advising everyone to wear sunscreen. Thus actresses like Anne Hathaway are now considered beautiful whereas in the 80s and 90s she would probably be ridiculed for her white skin.

I don't really think tanning beds and overly tanned skin are going to remain in fashion much longer. Tanned skin in your twenties turns into leather in your 40s, and no one wants to be a leather face. Or develop skin cancer.

Black people are the same way, in an opposite way. I know plenty of black women who don't really like to get out in the sun because they don't want their skin to get darker. Whereas I think dark black skin is beautiful and I wish more black women would rock that look.

 

yeah true. I know in asia there are certain countries where the women take umbrellas out on a sunny day cus they don't want a tan and want to keep white skin and that there white skin is considered pretty.
