I have only tripped twice before, once at a club and once at an outdoor festival. Both time I have really enjoyed the experience. I have recently gain some lucy, and would like to do a 'solo trip' (no one else around but me), I am wondering though about tripping though the day. Both times in the past have been night time doings.

I am not much of a night owl, and normally start work at 4:30 in the morning so to do a sunset to sunrise trip will just wack out my body clock way to much.

    Anyway, to my main questions,
    1) Have you tripped throughout the day?
    2) Do you prefer day or nights?
    3) Have you found any major differences between the two?
    4) Can visuals be affected by having the sunlight?

Thanks for any responses, and if you don't want to respond at least vote in the poll!

Daytime's generally my favourite time to trip because I love being able to see everything, it's just right for me :) I do like night trips, but day is just preferred.

Your visuals will change depending on the time of day, because obviously if there's less or more light your mind will either be "making things up" out of the darkness, or making what you can actually see go crazy as shit.

I never noticed too much difference between night and day on Lucy, but there's definitely a difference on shrooms. A few months ago now I munched a load of shrooms with some friends, and we went for a walk as we started to peak. There's a hill just on the outside of town that looks over the whole valley, and we decided to trek up there for a bit and see what was happening down below.
About halfway up I started to fall behind the others, and it was pretty much pitch black. I got to this choke point on the path and there was this fence which was just this amazing breathing psychedelic lattice, glowing with the iridescent shroomy reds/blues/greens, but I just couldn't grab hold of it. I tried stepping around it but it kept moving. It wasn't until one of my friends came back to get me that I realised it wasn't actually there, or if it was it was far away and my perception was just really fucked.
A few times walking through wet fields at night, puddles have started floating like little irregular discs of light, and there's a load of other stuff I could mention but I just can't be assed wrestling with words to attempt to explain the unexplainable.

Basically I think that the lack of light can fuck with your head a bit more, just because your brain doesn't get 100% information, so it starts to "fill in the blanks" and creates some really insane visuals :p

I like night time trips WAY better. Something about the darkness of night makes me feel wayyyy better than daytime. I like day trips too, but prefer night.

There's nothing like riding your bike in the middle of the road (couldnt during the day) frying on some doses with your headphones in. Cruisin down to the river, and enjoying the view.

Plus the moon is always awesome. haha

Nighttime feels better. But sometimes the best thing to do is start a couple of hourse before the sunset, so you catch the sunset!! omg. But since your eyes are super sensitive, light is going to destroy some of the effect, you have dialted pupils, so night is going to be easier. Looking up at the night sky also is more fun then looking up at the day sky. Clouds or stars or even both are incredible! The night sky also changes colo on enough ugs.

I live in the North Hemisphere, so I could only imagine a trip in the South Hemishpere, people travel there simple for the view of the stars!! That would be an incredible trip!

The night time is the right time, the night time is the right time, the night time is the right time..

Actually I feel like both day and night are both worth exploring, and both of them have their unique parts to them.

A day trip can be a really wonderful experience. Outdoors, where there a bright colors, flowers blooming, big green trees, big blue sky. Its a great time to get in touch with nature, feel alive, feel as you are playing outside as a kid and the whole world is so open. There is some really brilliant stuff that can happen in the day time, wonderfully brilliant!

The night time is when the Shaman's usually start their journeys, or in the evening time. Like what Black Lotus said, you can take it right before the night, catch the sunset! You can even take it earlier and see both day and night, but time can be very odd on those trips.

A night trip is usually where all the transcendental, interdimensional, time-bending, cosmic, psychedelic space flight takes place. The colors at night have their own aura to them, there is a different mood at night. The mind is usually quieter at night making it easier to go deeper into your being.

Both are great, give both a try hooray!

That's you, not everyone. It takes a fair amount of experience to be making definitive statements. ;)

What do you prefer TM? I have to be honest and say that I prefer night, that said I've never tripped during the day, the earliest ever being dosing an hour or so before sunset.
This actually has made me contemplate what's behind that. I know I like the subdued light with dialated pupils and all. But I think the root of it might be the first time I ever tripped was at the beach, at night. And maybe I've placed more significance to night time because of that. I know I do that with beach trips. :)

I chose night time in the poll because I enjoy looking at the stars and it feels more spacey to me. I also enjoy watching the sun come up, but my favorite way to trip is the following because I can get some sleep.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-JlQPIqdj4"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-JlQPIqdj4

Earliest I've started a trip is 2 pm

    See above
Yes there are certainly some notable differences.
Absolutely I find during the day visuals are often more surreal-like, like a Dali painting. During the night they seem more spacey.

I voted daytime but only because I've never fully tripped at night. Almost all of my trips have been planned out day trips, dropping between 11am-12pm so I'm usually coming down by nighttime. At night I usually smoke and go for a walk or something which I always enjoy. I haven't tripped in a while and don't really plan to anytime too soon, but the next time I do I think I'll make it a night trip for the experience.

Really it's apples and oranges. Depends what time of year it is, what the weather is like, what the day before my trip was like and what the day after is supposed to be. With something like LSD (8-12 hours) its much easier to make it a day trip for a lot of people.

I like night trips much better, but the logistics of it don't work out most of the time. I mean I usually don't have the whole day to sleep afterwards and it would throw off my whole sleep schedule. If I did have that next day free I would just trip then.

I like to have a room where I can create as close to complete darkness as possible to play with lights and such.

I've tripped a night before school before, not the best idea, but it worked. I dropped at about 8pm on the night before, got a good trip, and just a couple of hours of sleep. The next day kind of sucked, but it gave me a lot to think about, so it didn't feel wasted. And then I was automatically thrown back into a good sleep schedule. --I wouldn't advise this, but the point is, I think you can do a night time trip especially if you had the next day off, you'd just have to tamper with it, and get an alarm to wake you up the next morning to be tired by night of the next day.

I always have weird sleep habits though, so I realize this could have just worked for me. (I've suffered through insomnia for a long time, somehow LSD got me to sleep better, either that or Lucid dreaming.. Physically I think LSD helped, and mentally Dreaming did. Because I use to literrally be in capable of just falling asleep.)

Thank you all very much for all the responses, very informative.
On a side note you guys are much more active than the stoners lounge, but I spose that is to be expected lol. I would defiantly get the next day off work if I did a night trip, after no sleep and dealing with blood and crazy kids does not sound like a fun day at all. (I am a lifeguard, and doing CPR while crazy hungover once, taught me my lesson).

Sometimes I like doing it the morning like an hour after you wake up. Like that primetime where you feel really fresh.

Like wake up, eat something very light, don't smoke or anything, then go outside in the woods or to the park, get a bag of mushies or some el and causally eat them as you walk through the woods!

Its fun if you have some friends with you too, its really fun all meeting up in the morning, getting all prepared, passing out the treats, finding the path your going to take. Good quality time with your pals.

Beautiful. I'm mostly a day tripper, but now that I'm going to these psytrance campouts in the woods, the night time is the right time. One thing about days for me is that it's less visual and (somehow in my mind) more mind manifesting (not that the visual isn't mind manifesting). Seems higher in some way for me. And of course you can always close your eyes ... I'm mrarticulate.

It seems that most people who posted are for the night trips, however the poll is 50-50

Ive always wanted to trip on the beach....

I tripped powerful shrooms once, and was watching that movie with Tom Hanks... Cast Away! I awoke on the beach with him after the plane crash, full blown hallucinating off the couch and awoke next to him on the beach with my friend. It was nuts. We felt like we were on the beach for a few hours.

Definately night ,because it's much spookier. Therefore more fun. I always liked to drive on it at night too--trees along the road lookin' like they're reaching at you, trying to get you and such.(although it's been since the 70s since I took any)
