Capitalism Sucks! Sexual Puritanism Sucks! By Wolf Larsen American Capitalism is characterized by sexual puritanism. In a case that was recently in the news a 45-year-old woman was put on trial for having consensual sex with a 17-year-old. In another case an 18-year-old high school senior was sentenced to jail time for having consensual sex with his girlfriend, a sophomore who was just shy of her 16th birthday. Over and over again in state after state Americans are being put in jail for having consensual sex. This is a nationwide anti-sex witch hunt. To make matters worse teenagers are being prosecuted as "child pornographers" for sending revealing photos of themselves to their boyfriends and girlfriends. Once prosecuted these teenagers often have to register as "sex offenders" for the rest of their lives! This sexual puritanism is so hypocritical. Instead of "saving the kids" this sexual puritanism is ruining the lives of people who have done nothing wrong. What the government should be doing is saving young people from poverty. One out of every five kids in this country is growing up in poverty. All this talk about saving kids from sexual predators serves mainly as a distraction to blind us to the fact that many American children are suffering from poverty and rotten public schools. Under capitalism kids suffer immensely when their family home is foreclosed upon by some bank. In addition, police are shooting minority teenagers in the back. Capitalist politicians of both political parties along with religious extremists are absolutely obsessed with teenagers having sex. The capitalist politicians and the religious extremists do not seem to be too concerned that young people are growing up in poverty. If many of our young people and their families are living in shelters because they’ve lost their homes the capitalist politicians and religious fanatics do not care. Instead, capitalist politicians and religious extremists are more concerned about teenagers having sex. Guess what? Teenagers have been having sex ever since there have been teenagers. Telling teenagers not to have sex is like telling the sun not to shine. Currently the United States of America has the worst sexual education in the entire industrialized world. Instead of teaching teenagers how to avoid pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases the teenagers are often taught abstinence, which clearly isn’t working! As a result the United States of America has the highest teenage pregnancy rate in the entire industrialized world. And how many people are dying of AIDS? While the US government spends endless hundreds of billions of dollars on exotic weapons systems relatively little is spent on a cure for AIDS. The reason for that is that capitalism likes war, but the puritanical capitalist system does not approve of sex. Under capitalism endless military spending is good for the bank accounts of war-profiteers, but sex is immoral. Look at television! Children are exposed to hour after hour of endless violence on television, but god forbid there should be public service announcements on television showing people how to correctly use both male and female condoms. The capitalist politicians and religious fanatics would never permit that! Capitalism is insane. Under capitalism war is considered good and sex is considered immoral. Let’s just get rid of capitalism and replace it with socialism. Under socialism sex will be treated as something natural. Instead of being taught abstinence young people will be taught how to prevent sexually transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancies. Under socialism the age of consent will be lowered to take into account the fact that teenagers have always had sex and always will have sex. Once puberty begins a young person experiences large-scale changes in both their psychological and physical state that anyone with two eyes can see. Teenagers are not children. Anyone who can't tell the difference between a teenager and a seven-year-old child is blind. When I say that socialism will bring a more rational approach to sexuality I am of course speaking of the socialism of Lenin and Trotsky. Within a couple of years of the October 1917 Revolution all homophobic laws in Russia were taken off the books, and women received the right to an abortion. Joseph Stalin of course reversed these advancements, and everyone needs to understand that when it comes to sexuality the Stalinists are every bit as reactionary as the capitalists. What we need is the socialism of Lenin and Trotsky.
No.... the Socialism of Lenin and Trotsky was an utter failure, and caused the entire soviet disaster. It was based on the idea that you could force people to be good, and then they wouldn't need forcing anymore. Which is obviously retarded.
so I guess all those working in the sex video industry and private citizens putting their sex escapades on the internet in the USA are doing it from behind bars? I guess if you stake tent in the park of a Chinese or Russian business area, show your boobs and wang in protest of their banking system they'll let you go because they are politically and sexually tolerant? In some other countries in the world, making videos of sexual content for profit is illegal. A private citizen posting their nude pictures would be ran out of their town or worse. I wouldn't say we are the most tolerant in the USA but we are far better than the majority of socialist or communist countries. I mean, why do you think Borat came here to marry Pamela dude? As for the ideas of Lenin and Trotsky in opposition to Stalin, you see where communism leads... it a progression from lesser evil to greater evil in rapid order. It always plays itself out that way with socialism and communism
Well, why didn't that happen on Kibbutzims in Israel? Its institutionalized and strongly enforced morality (which applies to communist as well as any regime that validates its own existence through high minded ideals, like the Vatican) that leads to greater evil, not the moral critique itself. You can be against prostitution and pornography and addictive drug use without wanting to put people in prison for it and making their lives worst than it already is. Not all prostitutes sell their selves out of economic necessity, but it is a historically consistent trend for prostitution to become more prevalent during economic downturns. It should be resisted on some level and prevented through paying women fair wages, but I do agree that increasing law enforcement to police morality isn't a good tactic.
When I write that it is a white man's world I am not being racist. I am just observing. It is also a world of men that have errection fear or have small ones or have secret gaie fantasy. The world is controle by people sick. The puritanism, war and materialisme exist because of denial of nature and over compensation for person's inadequacies. Exemple : George Bush is mental idiot beaten by his father. Rumsfield has secret gaie lover and Cheny has very small masculinty. In Canda Stephen Harper was sexually molested as child and Peter Kent was never good enough for his family. It is sad white men do not read the same things ameriendiens do. It would make change of opinions on their leaders.
