Dec-18-2011 ~ This priest, Father Nathan Monk, was upset that citizens were removed for making comments that city counsel did not like. The citizens were upset about new anti-homeless policies and they drew similarities to Nazi practices.

Two counsel members walked out in protest and one can be heard announcing her exit.

 

What is happening to this country.... When were our first amendment rights removed?

 

The apathy of the American people is a huge contributor to the ease with which those rights are being taken from us. How many have looked at this thread today and passed it over or failed to comment?

Kudos to the priest and to the council members who walked out.

How can this not be front page freaking news in that town?! This is complete insanity and apathy is EXACTLY what is happen. If all our rights were taken away at once the USA would have had civil war, instead little piece by little piece our rights are being taken away and no one is giving a damn anymore. That's exactly the way "They" want it to be.

 

I raised hell about it for years before I left the US, talking to anyone that would listen, form politicians to common people-I finally came to the conclusion that most people just don't give a shit, as long as they have a nice, fat pocketbook (which will be the next thing to go, of course, after you spend all your savings to pay fines and court costs for simply exercising your constitutional rights.)

 

Maybe council kicked him out siting Godwin's Law.

 

We have two choices as I see it. Let it happen or stand up for our rights. We have lost more rights in the last ten years than you can imagine. Wake up people, we have to take a stand! We deserve better, our kids deserve better!
Are we going to just sit back and let our present goverment take everything away from us that our ancestors fought for! They are suposed to work for us, clean out all of them. Vote out all the incumbents and lets put people in there that are for the people and not for the money.

That's the biggest problem we have, WHO gets that far up in government to be able to run for these high offices in DC that hasn't already been bought out..... Nobody I have heard of. All we get is the lesser of two evils and once that one is elected we find them more evil than the guy we just got rid of.

Exactly-we've got to care more about the common good, not just what happens to us a individuals. By the time it happens to us, it's a little too late.....
