I got a call from a friend last week telling me a story of a lady in her 60's that is always helping people in her little village. She go on and on about all the stuff she does for people who don't have very much. Bla bla bla, "ok ok Mary what do you need?" I ask? Apparently this ladies hot water heater broke 2 week ago and she can't afford a new one. My friend is trying to raise the money to get her a new one and wondering if we can help.
Today I got a call saying the heater is in and working great. There are truly some wonderful people out there helping other and doing it out of the goodness of there heart.

I talked with some little Christmas Angels tonight. I called my "Son"/friend in Peru to wish Him and his family Merry Christmas. We talked a bit asking about each others families and he asked me to give greetings to his two younger brothers whom I adopted. I assured him I would and asked about his wife and children. He put the the kids on one at a time and in clear English, free of accent the little ones each said " I love you Papa Steve, Merry Christmas". Max, my son in Peru has taught his kids how to say Te Amo in English.[IMG]

This is Gabriel, now about 5. Selvana and Henry, 7 & 8, are learning a few more words. About 20 years ago I taught Max some English and he has learned lots more. From all those years ago on the banks of the Amazon River I heard the echos of young Spanish speaking kids begin to open up their world with language. Max has passed his gift of language on.

Those sweet clear little voices were great gifts for me. If there is magic left in Christmas for a jaded old man, I experienced it tonight. Be of good cheer folks, there enough misery to go around but for awhile lets let it go.

If Santa truly knows if we’ve been bad or good; Christmas this year could be quite a bonanza :2thumbsup:
