anyone know any good drone-like music? two or three artists i like helped me discover this general genre, and it seems like something i'd like, but i wouldn't know where to start with finding more
quartz safari stag hare tidal sun arraw EA peaking lights will tomas long - sequoia (extremely minimalist but I love it) windy and carl carl calm deep magic emeralds If you don't find em on youtube, they have a bandcamp I think. I put some of those i like and consider as drone (and i didn't include minimalistic psychelic accoustic/experimental folk kinds of things ), some are kind of experimental some are not. (I just read about dubstep/brostep debate and I hope drone music can be a very open musical genre ^^) edit : you can also listen to stuffs like brian eno, or new age things like iasos, or you can listen to grouper, boards of canada, and even some stuffs from acid mothers temple which are really drone oriented. https://www.youtube.com/embed/i9IwZJfcsR0
Ah, yes, I can definitely stand to marinate in some drone music; one of my personal favorites. I find it helpful to evoke particular thoughts and emotions, as well as accentuate them. Of course the same can be said for all genres of music, but for me drone music is a purely simple, and immaculately abstract haven of consciousness without the necessity of focus; an eloquently moving extension of being if you will.
