My boyfriend just called me to day he forgot to hand in his signed timesheet, so he won't get paid. It's two days before Christmas. Which means I'm forking out for EVERYTHING we want to do during the holidays, now.

I love him, but he does shit like this all the time (without meaning to) and I'm pretty pissed. He'll forget his keys and lock himself out of his house all the time. He loses his USB and then freaks out he will fail his assigments. Or misses the bus and his employers get angry with him for being late.

He's NOT a bad or lazy person. But he just does STUPID SHIT all the time. It worries me when I think about our future. What if we have a kid and are on a single income for a while and he forgets his time sheet again?

Anyone else love somebody who always does stupid shit? Be it boyfriend, wife, mother, friend etc?

I do that stupid shit. And it's a lot harder to quit than you think. Some people are just aloof and you probably don't have a clue how bad you make him feel about it. That being said, I am working on my spacey-ness and am improving by leaps and bounds. But if you don't encourage him to improve his attention skills and just trash him about it, it'll be a lot harder for him to get better about it.

eh, u sound harsh. I understand that it can be annoying when people lose or forget stuff all the time, but it happens and obviously it's not like they enjoy it (like for example being locked out cuz they forgot their key again). One of my nephews is like that, all the time, he doesn't do it on purpose, and i would never say that "he does STUPID SHIT". i just feel bad for him and i try to help him find ideas not to forget little things (put post-its everywhere, remind him of stuff ten times a day, etc.). i mean he probably is more annoyed than anyone else at his own lack of attention, and other people being harsh with him won't help at all.

My husband is forgetful but he has to take a large amount of medication, plus I think he might have the beginnings of Alzheimer's.

I take those things into consideration and get concerned about some of the not so safe things but not annoyed.

He has a passive aggressive streak and that does annoy me but Hey, we're all human and all flawed.

As long as the good outweighs the bad you learn to overlook little annoyances if you love someone.

The people who can tick us off the most and usually fastest are the ones we love. Mainly because they matter. :)

May they also be the ones that we forgive the fastest as what goes around comes around.

Sometimes developing routines can really help people remember stuff, I've had a hard time remembering some things and developing a routine has help me a lot. Also if he has a phone with an alarm or a to-do list that can help a lot as well. Set alarms and reminders and stuff in the phone to do certain things at the same time on certain days. :)
