I have popped both seperately and fell asleep before I felt anything. Just curious if it's because my tolerance is low or if it's because the shit just doesn't fuck you up like I expected it to.
It feels terrible IMO. The only time it feels half-way nice is if you are in an incredibly anxious state or need to fall asleep FAST and you are jacked up on 100+ mgs of amphetamines. To not be sarcastic, what it feels like is a combination of sedation coupled with a sense of relief or a 'weight off one's shoulders'. The brain simply slows down and doesn't 'feel' like processes any extraneous anxious thoughts.
xannax will kick it quiker and the k pin will last longer but all they do is chill you out and dumb you down a bit.
The best way to really describe a Benzo high is its alot like being drunk. Your more carefree with less inhibitions. Gives you a mood boost so your happier, but like said they will make you drowsy if you take them so don't try to do anything you shouldn't do. Like drive, talk to somebody important etc. Or you will say or do things you wouldn't want to and probably won't remember.
Feels relaxed. Yesterday I got prescribed 30 1mg alprazolams. I finished them today. Next appt im asking for 10*30 midazolam or 10*30 daizepam.
I don't like drinking but xanax is alcohol in pill form, IMO. Would take anywhere from 4 - 7 of the small(est?) pills and get a nice little high. Would last for a few hours until I blacked out/fell asleep. Would wake up and find magic text messages that make no sense. Stood up one time to prove I wasn't high, flipped right over the table and stayed on the floor for a while. It's been a really long time, but it felt pretty darn good. Peaceful.
Yeah, what etkearne and some others said. Xanax is really great for anxiety, and I suppose it could be described as booze in pill form. If you're going through a temporary stressful period it can be a godsend. Personally I don't think it's that great to party with, because it's too strongly sedative, but to each his own. It's a powerful drug that should be respected though, and I wouldn't mix it with alcohol. I mean, I can actually get an effect from half of a 0.5 mg pill, which is only 250 mic's, for fuck's sake. And I can get a good, restful night's sleep on 2 mg's. But be careful, because not only is it addictive, but the wd's from this can last for weeks.
Xanax is the gold standard of sedatives. Its highly effective, with about a 92% success rate among patients for providing rapid relief from anxiety and/or depression when first administered. Its also highly addictive, and recommended for short-term use only. Meaning two or three weeks at 1 mg daily, no more, because of this drugs horrendous withdrawal symptoms. But, some GP's and Psychologists do prescribe Xanax for long-term use, but that's kind of rare these days. Because of Xanax's street value, combined with extensive DEA scrutiny on Alprazolam prescriptions, and the fact patients tend to go off schedule with it, because you develop a rapid tolerance to this medication, these factors make it a poor overall choice for treating anxiety and depression, except in a hospital emergency room setting. Xanax or any benzo for that matter are basically 911 medications, where one would be much better served taking an SSRI like Lexapro for mental health concerns. With regards to its effects: Xanax provides a rapid and pleasant calming effect, then you get the munchies, then you sleep, and that's about it.
I heard some terrible news today that may or may not be related to Xanax. To make a pretty long story short, I know a guy who had a pretty serious Xanax addiction. He also had what you could call a pretty serious anger management problem, which is probably why he was taking the Xanax. I'm not sure if it was prescribed or not. All I know is he took it every day, and a lot. And you didn't want to be around him when he ran out. Now I've heard and read that it's a bad drug to withdraw from, and people withdrawing from this drug can have psychotic episodes. But he could be extremely short-tempered even when he had the drug. So are these psychotic episodes caused by withdrawal in itself, by a pre-existing psychiatric condition, which I'm sure he had, or a combination of both? I just don't know. I've been to different websites today looking for answers, but different sites have different views on the subject. What exactly happened isn't clear yet, the newspapers aren't putting out any detailed information. But the word on the street is that sometime on Christmas eve he went to his mother's apartment asking for money, probably for drugs, and when she refused he beat her to death. She was 84 years old.
