I do, although I prefer their older albums. To me, thier peak was from their debut to Midian. Bitter Suites to Succubi and Damnation and a Day were pretty good, but they did not live up to COF's reputation. Nymphentamine, however, was excellent and underrated.
I was never really into their older stuff, but its their newer stuff that has got me more interested. Love Forgive me Father (For I Have Sinned). But I hate how Dani sings over the solo at the end of that song. It fucking rules
I think it's one of those things that he is but isnt. I think that credit goes to someone like darkthrone or Immortal. I'm not sure, though, black metal's not really my thing.
i like the song nymphetamine they are an alright band. get a lot of undeserved shit, but theyve also never put out an album I liked all the way through.
I only like their oldest stuff, mainly because it got me into black at the time. They did not invent the genre of course but had an impact on it early on for sure. Once the genre was kind of 'established' COF already went on mixing different stuff in. Never liked them more as on their first 3 studio albums.
'midian' and 'cruelty and the beast' were their best to me but i've enjoyed most of their albums. i thought 'godspeed on the devil's thunder' was good.
No they didnt. That being said I used to be into Black Metal, but Cradle wasnt on my top. They are like black metal sellouts if you ask me. I used to LOVE Dimmu Borgir. And Gorgoroth. Now I think the whole scene is a bit ridiculous for me but theres still alot of fun stuff
Dimmu Borgir is kind of the same with me as Cradle of filth, their older (folkier) black metal stuff suits me best. When they started progressing their sound by throwing in symphonic, industrial, gothic and death metal influences they kind of lost my interest. Difference between them is that I still listen to Dimmu's For all tid and Stormblast albums with great joy while Cradle's Dusk and her embrace and Vempire are more just nostalgic albums, I only dig them now because I used to really dig them.
yeah they did......Cronos from Vemon said so.... on a serious note there not sell outs till they work with Vilo Vallo of HIM. THe reason why people say there sell outs to black metal is because they were a black metal band that was not affraid to show talent on their instruments......I mean if you listen to Bathory, Dark Throne, Dark Funeral.....they are not that good at their instruments (well they just not seek to be some technique band)..... not that black metal should be heard with ears that expect great musicianship.
It's not that they became more technical jmt, it's what techniques they added and how they incorporated those in their music that made them sound something else than pure black. Of course that doesn't have to make them sell-outs but since the early black metal movement was really opposed to overproduction indeed they were seen as going for a bigger crowd. Now, I don't care if they did, it's their band after all, I just didn't like their newer sounds
to me its not the technicality of it that turned me off, its the fact that they became alsost tacky and corny. They over-did the whole ''im a monster'' thing. What really turned me off was when I saw the live. The singer is a tiny little dude and he was super mad at the sound man, stomping around on stage in his little getup... it was more ''cute'' than anything else. Like a little child in a halloween costume throwing a fit lol
I love Cradle, they were one of the first extreme metal bands I got into and many years later they're stil one of my favorites. I personally like all their albums except for Damnation and a Day, that album sucks lol. My favorite albums are Midian and Dusk...& her Embrace.
Cradle is the only band I have ever seen that did not do an encore. I saw them several times, never did it once. The singer is an asshole, which is why the "band" consists oh him and a new everyone else each album or two. His voice is fried from signing in that black metal style, so I don't know how people still listen to them now. It all sounds like crap to me now, but for real black metal Cradle has nothing on bands like Mayhem for example. If you are trying to be black metal anything less then full on dedication to evil and the left handed path is not going to measure up. Cradle is comical, even in their prime they seemed to be making a joke of the whole black metal thing to me.
yeah, i can't stand their new shit....i definitely wanna fuck his lady just to get back at him for creating the new shitty music.... i youtubed their first shit before they even made it anywhere, with shitty make up and cut-off tshirts...that shit was raw...i quit listening once thornography came out
