occupy nola kinda sucked. it lacked orginazation and drive. i spent 6 weeks there and it accomplished nothing before it got shut down

Occupy Nola is not shut down. They are still up and working.

The items listed in order are:

City Hall – 1300 Perdido St # 2E04, New Orleans, LA 70112-2125 – Place where many protests are conducted. Duncan Plaza, where we still currently hold General Assembly is directly across from it.

Occupy the Lot – 2219 Clio St

The Unitarian Church – 5212 S Claiborne Ave – Location of meetings for the Digital Media group

A potential church for us to use – 1664 Robert St

A place on Basin street where we can get lumber – 401 Basin St

The Digital Media Working Group has acquired a new spot.

The 3rd Ward camp has found the owner.

The Direct Action Working Group on January 16th, Martin Luther King, JR Day will have a protest march.

Happy Camp wants to do a trash march. They need support.

An Independent Agency was introduced. They’re a police auditing group regarding complaints about police conduct – Susan

Alison believes affidavits we’ve previously filled out can be used as a dual purpose. We can also file new complaints and make recommendations on investigations and disciplinary actions. They brought materials. Lastly, anyone who would like to offer positive feedback for the police is also welcome to do so. They rarely get positive feedback–only complaints, so it would surely be appreciated.

Occupy the Lot is located on LaSalle and Earhart. They are still cleaning up and would like to begin organic gardening workshops.
Announcements: John and Santa (John’s dog) are now helping to provide housing for the homeless.

Working Group proposals- St. Jude’s Basin Hall- 401 Basin street was offered as a place to stay for meetings. 7 PM Thursday.
-Since this proposal seemed to be brought up at the last minute, there were concerns about people being able to get there. Friendly amendments were offered. These included people staying there from 6:30 to 7:30 pm with maps, along with broadcasting it across our social-media sites.

glad to hear its back up and running. i was there when it was shut down twice. i was at go camp.
