This is my second poetry attempt. It took me three weeks (from my last attempt) or more to find the inspiration, but it finally hit me and here is my final product.
awesome man, I like your style bonifide. nobody else writes like that. keep em rolling. first two lines were great for the opening I thought.
Yeah, since I never really 'read' poetry, I never really 'picked up' a style. I just try to express whatever intense emotion I have by carefully picking words. I am sure I will get better as I progress, but you have to start somewhere! AND, I find it very liberating and empowering to put my emotions to words. It releases some steam kind of.
Heh, you remind me of a friend of mine who also writes poetry. He's at med school. Awesome work, man, keep it up.
This line stood out for me: "Inside the Skull or inside the State." I like that, it's food for thought. And your last stanza is powerful. There is a style in this, marriage between the supposed opposites of emotional, vague, raw and inexplicable with the scientific, mechanistic, and precise. I enjoy it when juxtapositions can come together in a coherent and a new way. So that's all I've got regarding content, style, etc, and in terms of meaning, it will take me awhile to digest, being sick and congested doesn't help.
