Is something similar to cigarettes being put into the coffee bean when its being roasted before it goes on the shelf? We all know cigs have added chemicals to keep people hooked,....does the coffee bean now fall into this category? I dont know about the country you live in, but here, in America people are crazy for the coffee bean. I say this because everywhere ive lived people HAVE TO HAVE THEIR COFFEE IN THE MORNING ahhhhhhHHHHHHHH...... People are lining up like robots at drive-thrus now to get the cup of coffee! I know my country is addicted to coffee, holy shit. Is something being done to keep us hooked other than advertisement.... Look at the country....IF I GO 3 DAYS WITHOUT HAVING MY MORNING COFFEE SOMEONE IS GOING TO START BLEEDING...... that sounds extreme, but people here want want want.....
If you drink a lot of coffee, your body develops a dependence on caffeine. If someone were to take away a coffee from a frequent coffee drinker, chances are they will experience withdrawal symtoms. If a regular drinker stopped drinking coffee for a day, they could experience a headache, and once they take a sip of coffee it goes away. That's why it's considered a addiction. Caffeine is a mind-altering drug, and with that like many other drugs you can experience withdrawal.
According to WebMD Caffeine Myth No. 1: Caffeine Is Addictive This one has some truth to it, depending on what you mean by "addictive." Caffeine is a stimulant to the central nervous system, and regular use of caffeine does cause mild physical dependence. But caffeine doesn't threaten your physical, social, or economic health the way addictive drugs do. (Although after seeing your monthly spending at the coffee shop, you might disagree!) If you stop taking caffeine abruptly, you may have symptoms for a day or more, especially if you consume two or more cups of coffee a day. Symptoms of withdrawal from caffeine include: headache fatigue anxiety irritability depressed mood difficulty concentrating No doubt, caffeine withdrawal can make for a few bad days. However, caffeine does not cause the severity of withdrawal or harmful drug-seeking behaviors as street drugs or alcohol. For this reason, most experts don't consider caffeine dependence a serious addiction. Hotwater
