    Hi,

So, I am in the unfortunate and uncomfortable position of being in a state that just banned the plant Salvia divinorum (YAY! :(). making it even more uncomfortable, is the fact that I discovered a way to make a chemical analogue of salvinorin A that required no fancy extractions, and could be made straight from the leaf itself into the relatively pure analogue, which was less psychoactive, but appeared to have some very interesting medicinal uses (in pliminary testing, nothing official, but still looking quite promising) such as a possible use as an anti-depressant, and use for treating addiction to tobacco and alcohol (people tested [obviously before the ban] upon questioning, some of them 'veterans' of alcohol and tobacco, reported back temporary dramatic drop or complete ceasing of both smoking and drinking for 2-3 days after consuming an oral dose of this analogue, which was potentially without physical or psychological withdrawal, as suggested by the testees unanimous reactions when asked about smoking and drinking, which generally was along the lines of "wow, now that you mention it, I really didn't drink and/or smoke 'nearly as much as I usually do'/ at all(!) during the 2-3 days after "taking that stuff". another interesting note is that anhis an elderly man, who was a self proclaimed (with evidence) long time user of marijuana, seemed insistant on thinking that this analogue "must have" contained THC, it did not, and he was the only one to bring this up, but it's still interesting.

Anyways, to get to the point, my state laws, however, only apply to the actual plant "salvia divinorum" itself, not salvinorin A. However, I do worry that salvinorin A extracted from Salvia divinorum may be illegal, however, I am fairly confident that if it were possible, bypassing the need to obtain salvinorin A through the traditional route, extracting it from Salvia divinorum, would make the resulting salvinorin A legal, as it then would not require possessing salvia divinorum, nor would it be an "extract of Salvia divinorum", thus legally, it would have nothing to do with salvia divinorum technically, and thus I could continue making and experimenting with my analogue of salvinorin A. I do know that synthesis of salvinorin A is possible, and has been done, thus, supposing this is the case, does anybody know a way that someone could synthesize salvinorin A at home, on a limited budget? or alternatively, does anyone know a reasonably priced source for synthesized salvinorin A? (MUST BE SYNTHESIZED!)

thanks and sorry this was so lengthy.

    peace
