im trying to move to colorado this summer and maybe next year just to hang out because im in school in louisiana and bored but have no idea to go about it...advice on jobs or where to live would help out a lot thanks
Ski resorts are always a ood place to start, even in the summer. There are always jobs and good laid back locals. I lived in Vail for 5 years year round and loved it, the motto is "you come for the winters but stay for the summers."
we definately want to be around the music scene, but really it doesn't matter as long as we have jobs and a place to stay...i thought about resorts but are they in decent enough sized towns that we can meet people and see shows? is it even possible for us to get one considering were from louisiana?
OK, why would you not be able to get a gig because you are southern? half the freeaking state is Texans (see my joke in Roll call CO) kitchen skills are your easiest, best bet.
yeah i could handel that kind of thing anyway hopefully ill get out there soon and hear some good music thanks
i done the same when i was younger try the ski resorts, give u good example, i worked at beaver village ski resort it's in winter park colo. i was 16 didnt know squat or any 1, walked in right off the greyhound bus on x-mas eve no less asked if they where hiring an guy at front desk said SURE ALWAYS so bout 3 hours later i'm washin dishes "it was all automated just had to load an unload" didnt mind it at all room an board was cheap "lived at the resort down below kitchen so did most of he other kitchen help" rooms where doubles kinda small but clean like a hospital, but room an board they done ur laundry too was like 75 a week which they took out of ur check meals where $1 breakfast $2 lunch $3 supper cept 4 us kitchen ppl meals where free all this happened like 24 years ago but my son who turned 16 in 2003 has done the very same as i done last 2 years this year he has a job in vail he's a ski instructor's assistant makes like 11 an hour keeps him happy "an out of my pockets" for the winter's anyways! but to all u young wanna be travelers GET OUT THERE an do it! most never regret it i could type for hours bout my travels when i was younger "i travel more now tho but im a owner /operator truck driver"
