I can't help but be curious about my buddy. I used to smoke weed with him almost every day for almost 2 years. I didn't see him for about 3 months and now the last week or so we've hung out a few times. When he puffs on the herb now a strang thing happens ... his voice gets real kynda uptight sounding and goes up higher (like a girls would almost); it sounds as if he's got the wind knocked out of him or something. What is this? He actually mentioned it to me the other day (I wasn't sure if he was concious of it or not), seeming pretty embarrassed over it. He said he can't help it at all, no matter what he tries & he says it happens much of the time when he gets high nowdays. The only thing he's changed at all since I used to get high with him (he used to just be kynd and cool when he was stoned) is he smokes cigarretes now, but that's absolutely it, as far as I know. anyone have witnessed this is another? I don't quite understand. We were smoking some dank, but we always used to before, so I wouldn't think it's just simply him not being able to handle it. What the hell is it?
Yeah... It happens. Pot is one underestimated drug. My brother had a complete colapse on pot and started bawling his eyes out. My voice changed once
I would lay down the word underappreciated right along side underestimated. I'm just not seeing the deal with this cat. He's hip as hell, lives pretty fucking righteous & seems a happy brothah very much in tune with his body & feelings; but he can't place this one ... neither can I. Why would he be having these type of tymes each tyme he get's stoned nowdays?
hmnnn that is kind of strange. Never heard of that before. I get the opposite sort of. I have a naturally deep voice but when I get high and flap my yap I'm really much louder than I normally would be. I can see how that would make a brother slightly self conscious though. It really could be the cigarettes.
ya mine gets deeper and sloooowed down, but if im really buzzed, somtimes wen i laugh its much higher than normal. I dont have a problem with it tho, it just makes me and my friends laugh even harder lol.
yeah that happened to me once, actually. it freaked me right out. i have no idea why it happens though, sorry
Maybe he shouldn't be smoking pot anymore. Maybe lay off it for a while until his tolerance goes down or something.
i find its easier to sing higher notes hehehe there is a scientific explination but i dont remember it i think everyone's voice does change, but its usually nothing noticeable, whereas some people's voices change more than others, just like everything effects people differently.
I notice that i can sing better after i have smoked...plus its alot more fun to smoke then sing But usually talking wise, i dont like to talk when im high, at all, so i usually dont bother to see if my voice is different. Sometimes i do notice i talk in a low, monotone kind of fashion, but thats usually only when im reallllly high.
i toked up with my friend for awhile, he had to stop becuase he would get real depressed. And he would wake up crying in the middle of the night pulling out his hair.
As wild as it sounds, I truly think this is what it is. I would think he's okay with one, but from what I noticed, every time it was happening he was and kept on sucking on the niccotine ... like chain smoking pretty much. He's not that big of a smoker, either. I don't know why or how it would be, but I am near certain this is the cause. I myself, smoke a few cigarrettes a day (just can't seem to quit all together). I pretty much never smoke a square when I get high, maybe will a little while later, but not much; I used to smoke like a pack a day and have been smoking for years, but I get a major headspins when I get high and start puffing cigarrettes. I say this just to bring out the fact of cigarrettes having uncommon effects on me when I'm feeling high ... I think it might be the same with him, except simply a different effect ... maybe like tightening his throat up ... I don't know. I kynda forgot something else he said that I should have posted before. He said he was long ago told by a doctor he had tonsilitus and needed them removed (this being like a year ago he says); he's yet to get them out. Maybe this is the underlying problem and cigarrettes combined with being high do something with this? ? ? I've lost myself
I dunno about his voice thing, but doctors are all too eager to take tonsils out. His are probably fine, but the doctor thinks he can heal a person by cutting part of their body out. Stupid. Anyways, smoke with him and tell him not to have any cigs. Thats an easy way to see if it happenes. If it does, well, tell him to explore the feeling and see if he can figure out why it does that; being high lets you be more in touch with your body, might as well use that to his advantage. If he can't figure it out, well, oh well. Hopefully he doesn't get down about it.
woah... that's in the movie Blazing Saddles (great movie) and i just thought it was somethin fake lol
