I want to start off with saying that i have always wanted to have a lucid dream but a few months ago i gave up because it was to much work being i was late to school everyday and didn't have the time to keep a journal. Though three days ago my dream reignited my interest in it.

In my dream my teacher's lesson plan today was geared toward "releasing anger" so we had a brawl in the class room just for that. I then went to gym and on my way there i was thinking about just happened and it dawned on me that i was actually in a dream! As soon as i had that thought it felt like a veil disappeared in front of me and I felt so carefree and i asked my friend for confirmation and here is where it all went wrong.
I said to him "dude i think I am in a dream" and he responded with "no, you're not." This made me stagger because i forgot dream characters try to get you to keep you in a non-lucid state, i wound up asking him ten more times and he replied no to every time i asked. He half convinced me that it was real life and went through the rest of the dream half lucid asking everyone if i was dreaming and my mom actually told me to preform a reality check but it failed and i went to subway instead, and then i woke up.
Now last night i had another lucid dream kinda, i walked out of a mall automatic doors and i found out i was dreaming somehow, and i got really excited and the world started melting in front of me i tried to spin to get the dream world back together but startled awake in my bed exhausted at 8 o'clock.
I don't know the purpose of this post i just felt like sharing.

I've had one lucid dream that I lost control of and I ended up kinda semi lucid and i was trying to slap myself awake but couldn't. Lucid dreaming would be awesome if I got it down.

Dude the dream world is very strange lucid. The characters you have to remember are all in your head, so they can't tell you anything you don't already know/feel. So next time you think you're in a dream, go out and fly, the second you do you'll know for sure this is a dream, and this means fly, not jump off a cliff and see if you stay in the air. Don't want to accidentally have someone jump off a cliff in real life cause they think it's a dream.. haha

Be patient in your dream and just love every moment of it, because they are experiences once you are able to remember them well.

    ^ Yup.

When you are going to bed, remind yourself everything you see from now up until you waking up in your bed, feeling sober and normal is a dreeaaaaaaaaaaaaam.

yes at times the mind plays tricks on you and when you come to realize, you're mid-dream and you don't remember why you got there or why you never noticed.

I had one dream in particular where I was miles high up on a ski lift (hanging on for dear life), and I was scared shitless of jumping off just to prove I was in a dream... even though in the back of my conscious I knew it had to have been fake. I suppose I could've taken black lotus' advice and done something simpler. :p

i kept a dream journal and stuff, and that sure made me start having way more dreams, but none lucid

this week i started doing those reality checks stuff (didnt know about them before :D) ... maybe when i get those in my head i might be able to remember them during the dreams

i am now having a lucid dream every day i looked at the clock in my dream and it was 4:53 i look back and it said it was .06 i don't know why i am having all these lucid dreams let alone remembering them because my dream journal is long gone but i view it as a good thing, in fact i think i am going to start keeping a journal and actively doing reality checks. Is their any alternative to keeping a written dream journal because i don't have much time in the morning to write these things down?

^Possibly, I use to be big on the dream journal, now I don't even do anything, I just fall asleep when I'm tired, have a dream and live it. If it's really cool, or has some idea that I want to remember I'll write it down, but other than that I just don't really think about it. I remember my dreams now because I have fun in them.

You just have to become accustom to seeing these dream signs and putting focus on them while in the dream, you should be close to capable of this if you're going lucid every night, that's how I first routined it. So you should be able to do it just by picking up this dream signs, even if you don't go lucid, just being able to have fun in it and remember it is good enough. Even if you forget it later. But the dream journal is kind of fun, cause when you go back to read it at a later date, you kind of relive the dream, even if there's not enough written down that you couldn't describe.

Yeah my problem with lucid dreaming now is just the act of doing SOMETHING when I realize i'm dreaming like i seem to want to just chill in the dream or like last night i envisioned a sword in my hand and just started swinging it around my room. Like when you become lucid do you feel like your conscious or do you feel like almost high?

Being lucid is very different than just being able to control it. Most everyone's had a dream or two where they chose what to do in it, but being lucid is like being awake, the dream world becomes so vivid and endless, you just walk where you want, and you know everyone you see is fake. You start to choose what to do and how to do it, you can manipulate the world and people you see, it's like a magical fairy tale and you're the chosen one with all the powers. When I go lucid, I usually keep the world the same and just walk around and explore, talk to people and just amuse myself, but then I love to fly and check on people I know in real life, I always wonder if I am somehow in their dreams.

Being lucid should be nothing like being high, however, if you want you can get high while lucid in your dream, and it will feel very real, I've tripped acid, and smoked in my dreams and it is almost exactly the same. Very scarily so, but unfortunately waking up doesn't seem to be as meaningful as an actual trip. It's really incredible. You can just do whatever you want, whether it's realistic abstract, it's all up to you

When i said i felt high i was meaning to like clouded decisions, and astonishment of everything cause i knew that i was actually lying down in my bed, it was really cool, i just hope i can gain more control because i feel like i haven't come close to being fully lucid and i'm just scratching the surface.

Congratulations! It is very rare for people to have lucid dreams, even for pros who try everyday can only come up with 40-100 LD's every 2 years! I myself only have had the pleasure of experiencing Lucidity within a dream once, and the next morning I could accomplish anything, I cleaned the house got job applications a whole bunch of things I am not accustomed too!

Here are some techniques I picked up on Lucid Dream forums:

WILD Tech: Start off in a position somewhat awkward but comfortable on all sides. Lay straight on your back and set your hand somewhere they are comfortable at. For me I prefer to put them on my chest to achieve faster results. After you are situated focus on your breathing, In Out In out Deeep Breathes and focus on the though of dreaming but be sure to NOT fall asleep. Now it is imperative you do not move a muscle when doing this, dont even swallow(Which you can avoid by propping your head on a pillow at an angle), you will want to give up at about 20 minutes. DO NOT, you are almost there, keep going even if you get frustrated.

After 30-60 minutes if you are still awake and aware of your surroundings you will have successfully entered Sleep Paralysis, you might hear screams. You could feel chest pains or a pressure crushing your body. You may experience Disassociation with reality and possibly hallucinate. At this point in time tell yourself I will remember my dream and say that repetitively and at the same time imagine dreaming and the sensations of flying or whatever you want you wanna think about ;)
That should do the trick, not the best method but an easy one

Easiest method is to tell yourself "I will dream and I will remember it when I wake up." Now when you wake up, write down your dream and every detail you can think of. And whenever something abnormal happens, pinch yourself or look at a clock. This will help you find clues in your dreams. Sooner or later you will have an LD.

Goodluck, btw Are you dreaming right now?

^Not at all, it would be if you don't know what's going on. But you know exactly what it is now, and you know you will get out of it, so it should be very relaxing. That is the point of it

You enter sleep paralysis and everytime you sleep, and you're out now

My sleep paralysis consists of figures or beings or "shadow people" (usually just 1 for me) coming into my room and trying to disturb me, choke me to death lol. It's really f'n creepy. Some nights I'll wake up, go back to bed, and they'll repeatedly come back.

Well the tek, is definitely not the most effective and Peaceful way to attain a lucid dream. Visual Hallucinations are common but can be replaced with voices xD. Just close your eyes and enter sleep paralysis that way. :)

well i'll have to research it more and how to really induce it more and how to lead it to lucid dreaming as the lucid dream week has run dry and I am dying to have more being I wanted to have them to learn more about me from my sub-conscious but that is the one thing i have yet to do.

The stages seen after sleep paralysis occurs consist of illusions that your mind and emotions amplify. From a meditative trance, once you enter sleep paralysis you will in either one of two states: dream/sleep, or astral projection. You literally can hallucinate things right here, and that's where you can fall into the illusion, or over come it. You could picture anything imaginable, and it will be played off as real, and this can quite scary, but it can also be relaxing, so you just need to take control. But sleep paralysis doesn't necessarily induce this, it's possible to lye awakeunableto move for a few seconds.

@aesthetic: that's not an accurate statistic, there was a person very interested in lucid dreaming that he dedicated his life to and averaged 20 lucid dreams a month. I myself have had probably 15-20 lucid dreams since late November/early December. It's all about picking up on the dream signs, and natrually reaching your REM cycle each rest. Sometimes meditating into a dream cycle makes it easier to go lucid. I go lucid about every 3-4 days or at least once a week

That's Great! Perhaps you could give me some pointers I only have 2 intentional LD's under my belt and could use some help. Any prefered meditaion techniques to induce LD?

I plan on trying the WILD technique this weekend to see how well it works and do it again the following weekend to make sure, i just want to start having lucid dreaming naturally though even though it will take a long time
