lol so I saw kinky ramona's signature that said the floor is lava and I thought haha I used to play a game like that when I was a little kid with my friends. we would jump from the desk to the couch and make it a game to never touch the ground and we would have to go from 1 side of the house to the next.

Damn! Last I saw she had the 'Fuck the Police' one, but the lava one is my favorite...Lava always trips me up.

I think it all stems back from my dream when I was about two years old where a lava monster was chasing me. The first dream I remember. I know the age I had it because it took place in a trailer we lived in for a few months when I was a toddler.

(One of my two nightmares... the other was care bears...)

I can't play MineCraft or Mario without falling in the fucking lava.

My brother and I used to play that but it was quicksand.

It seems like everything on t.v. in the 60's had quicksand in it.

lol, Sarah, it was just about time to change it up, and the lava one was my second favorite 60s Spider-Man meme. :D The "Fuck the Police" one cracks me up, though, because he just looks so damn serious and focused in that roller coaster cart. And in Minecraft, have you tried holding shift to keep from falling in? I don't play much, but that's the one valuable button I did learn.

Also, that lava game would be a lot better now that my parents have accumulated so much living room furniture over the years. It was kind of a tiring game when I was a kid, because we had a huuuuuuge living room (was converted from a two-car garage), and not much furniture to fill it. Over the years, they've obtained another couch and several armchairs. My brother, though, is well over 6 feet tall, so somehow I think this game would be even more awkward and destructive now than it ever was as children. :D

I used to play this game. I couldn't imagine doing it now. It would have to be outside like those crazy building jumper spiderman people do. My mom still has the same furniture setup she had when I was 8, so I should try this. Hey, if i break something, at least i can be like, "it's time you got a new one of those anyway".

but if i break myself, I can be like, "at least its not YOUR insurance going up for my injuries anymore".

for me it was tiles...the kitchen had two different colours and we would avoid stepping on the green ones

this commercial was on tv a lot when i was a kid :
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykaoPZT2eFk"]Pub banga (1989) - YouTube
so if someone wasn't playing "lava floor", they would play "the floor is a river full of crocodiles".
and yes, i suppose there are multiple puns u can make in English with the product's name (Banga). not to mention the 80s vibe the commercial gives. i like it, it's my childhood.

I wonder why kids play this. My little brother was playing it the other day... I've never seen anyone on TV do it or anything but somehow kids just do it.

My brother's and I had a system, each of us would stand on our beanbags in a line, then I (in the back) would step on the one in front of me and pass mine to the front, and repeat.

because it gives them a reason to jump on the furniture.

like everyone else, i also played it. i think i would break something here; there's a pretty large gap in the middle of my living room.
