Has any one every wwoofed, and if you did how were your experiences. Any good places to start wwoofing?
I totally posted about this a while ago and no one responded. Then a few weeks later I met a cool cat and it came up in conversation. He said he lived with a couple and their 2 year old son and had his own room. He worked with them and they spent most of their time all together. He loved it. I guess it depends on the family you choose though. Good to contact them first if you can to get to know them. I'm VERY interested in doing this too!
I want to stay in the U.S. for money's sake...although I'd love to visit Spain or Europe...OR Africa. Once this semester of college is over for me, I will be done with college and ready to do this. Possibly visit South Dakota. I want to be somewhere with a lot of nature left to see.
I'd like to hear from some more former WWOOFERS.. i'm planning on leaving in April or May and spending the summer backpacking and working on farms. All registered, and i actually just got the catalogue for the canadian Woofing hosts today! I guess it really depends on the host, but has anyone ever had any paticularily great experiences? Around Western Canada?
Coming back to this, I now signed up for Americorps. (americorps.gov) I'm going to either Cali or Colorado then being moved all over the US to do humanitarian things and get free boarding, food, travel, and 200 bucks every 2 weeks. I feel great about this!
Thats awesome man. What kind of 'humanitarian' things would you be doing in the USA? Disaster Relief?
Mostly disaster relief of different sorts along with preparing meals for soup kitchens, preserving wildlife, ect. It's really easy to get signed up and stuff and then they pay for food, board, travel expenses, and give you 200 every 2 weeks and 5000 for school at the end. It's a government program though, but I'm still diggity down.
