Have you seen this woman? OMG is she hot! I cannot believe that Kobe would cheat on her. If she were my wife I think I would be blind to any other women:

Photographic beauty is one thing but none of us has any idea what anyone's like when shit gets real. My experience is that most (not all) people blessed with looks tend to have less personality to support it... probably because they don't have to be nice. People in general tend to react positively to looks. I know I do.

People who have had their heads filled with how great or good looking they are tend to be difficult to deal with. A swelled ego can be baggage in and of itself... depending on a persons ability or willingness to process praise.

Plus Kobe's wealth, celebrity, and looks probably has women throwing themselves at him. Familiarity tends to breed contempt; Kobe and his beauty may well be a bit tired of each other- who says she doesn't have something working on the side as well?

I have been monogamous for the past 16 years and have never cheated on my wife.

As far as resisting women throwing themselves at me I can't say I could resist them all, especially if I were on the road, away from home so much, like NBA players are but then again if I had that kind of money I could have my wife come and visit me on the road.

Why is monogamy so hard to understand? If you love someone why would you want to hurt them? Why would you jeopardize your marriage? Was the sex with all of those women worth $ 75 million, 3 houses and the agony of separation from your children?

 

Monogamy for me is easy to understand. Just not for rich people. What is difficult for me to understand is how someone that rich marries at all...especially, without a prenup.

For all I know he was a devoted husband, and she just played him for his money. I doubt it, though...

Monogamy isn't hard to understand. Some folks just look at it differently. People blessed (burdened) with fame and fortune are most likely subjected to far different influences than regular folks. A sense that because of your fame, fortune, or whatever that you are entitled to bend social norms and you're probably accustomed to people making excuses for you- covering up for you. Making a mistake just doesn't carry the same weight with someone who's accustomed to having other people clean up their messes on the justification that they are special.

It carries over to relationships. For me, getting one female's attention was HUGE so I placed a much higher value on that than someone whose head is filled with the sugary words of people who are looking to swell an ego- and who KNOWS that he can get just about any woman he wants. The value of the relationship has a direct correlation with how difficult it is to establish one.

When thinking with the penis, it's unlikely that many dudes who have not had to work for anything nor suffer the consequences of their own indiscretions think any further than the penis- including money, property, or children.

A celebrity mind set is something I'm very happy not to be able to identify with- though had I been "blessed" with wealth and fame I'd probably be as bad as any of them.

Your set of standards (or mine for that matter) are likely not something that will compute in the mind of MOST rich celebrities,

in my experience the best personalities are in above average, but not extremely attractive people. obviously the real lookers don't need to be nice, but then the ugly ones tend to be either bitter or try to overcompensate and just come off as loud and obnoxious.
