Hey guys so I dropped an UNLIT spliff down my steering column, tried to get it out and it may have moved into the section where my transmission is. Is this a serious enough problem to have to get fixed? If it was something hard I'd be more worried, I figure it'll eventually break apart inside but my car will still run fine.

I guess you can make that determination when the cop is bringing in that dog..... ;) j/k

The car will be fine, shouldn't mess anything up. It might actually fall out at some point down below so keep watch for it.

It was actually just a cig, didn't want to say because a bunch of people would bitch because it got posted in the marijuana forum.

My plastic sheathing that protects the linkage in my gear shifter broke apart and I dropped a cigarette down there.. I was worried it would get all smashed up in the gear and make it sticky or something.. I made sure to fish it out of there.

Just because of this deceiving story that cig is going to start a fire and burn up the car.....

I decided to ask the "pros" and the dealership said it shouldn't cause any issues especially because it wasn't lit. I also drive an automatic so I don't use my shifter quite as much. Hoping for the best haha

.... Thats not your transmission, Just a cable linkage.

I wouldn't worry, but at the same time, I'd find time to take off the plastic shield and get it out, just because that sort of thing bothers me.
