Any kind of floor or dry pavement (warm but not hot), and bare dirt trails if they are dry.

With one ex-girlfriend I would often get very dirty shoulders and upper back from her filthy feet. It wasn't from her walking on me, though:love:....

I like store floors, warm asphalt, soft grass, some wet grass (moist is probably a better word), softened, wet dirt (especially the kind that turns my soles a cool color), the paint on city streets, and my personal favorite, the sticky, gooey stuff they use to fill in cracks in pavements

I'm with Pixy, I love old floors.. of any kind, the worn stone in castles and churches, the old wood floors in old buildings.. the surface is smooth in itself and it's also a wonderful way to get a 'feel' for the building, its history, all the people who walked there before...

In general I also like rough surfaces, gravel and other challenges, it gives me a feel of strength and confidence that I can handle those kind of things easily. But I've also walked on some very soft surfaces, near my home is a mossy path, it's just out of my regular way but it's *soft*, also on the heath sometimes there's very squishy, thick, soft layers of soil and bottom vegetation... another time I was on a walking tour and we came near an old church, it was all grass growing around there but it was twice as soft and thick as any grass I've walked on anywhere else.

Warm surfaces are nice too, not as common here in my climate, which makes them more fun. I remember one time in early spring when I walked on a dark stretch of pavement that obviously soaked up the sun much easier than most other surfaces, and was surprisingly warm underfoot, and also one day after a summer thunderstorm, the puddles were luke-warm (very rare!).

The best in every-day life is however the variety, from hot to cold, from rough to smooth, hard to soft, I wouldn't want to pick any one of the surfaces above and walk on it all the time, if I couldn't have the variety anymore.
