It's Valentine's Day in a few weeks, HipForum members!


What are you guys going to do? Spend time with that special someone? Mend a broken heart? Eat an entire bowl of ice cream (or a swimming pool full, for our American friends)? Protest because you think it's a capitalist plot?


This holiday has always bothered me. It seems so... Vibrant. They need to tone it down, y'know?

 

it appears to fall on a tuesday this year. lately my tuesday routine has been to work until about 4 then come home and work on my online class for most of the night, but then it's still a month away so there's plenty of time for that to change.

besides thanksgiving and christmas, which i spend with my parents, i really don't do anything different from my standard routine for any "holidays."

 

ill probably do nothing seeing as i dont have a significant other at the moment.

 

I'm going to buy myself a box of maraschino cherries, smoke loads of maryjane, light cinnamon incense and blast all my favorite angsty girl band records so I won't be lonely this year... that's the plan

 

i didn't realize single people got a day off for valentine's day...

 

I wanted to get mad about your American joke, but I fucking love ice cream.

I'll probably bitch about it being a 'Hallmark holiday' but secretly hope I get special attention, as usual. Women are so hard to please!

I'm probably going to sit down at a hipsteresque coffee shop, look my best, write a story on my laptop, and get angry when no girls fawn over me.

My boyfriend and I aren't probably going to do anything on the actual day but we are going to go on a skiing trip to Crater Lake, OR on the weekend and it will be awesome

 

Its awesome, my wallet doesn't lose anything.

I love buying expensive flowers that sit on a shelf and collect dust tell they are thrown out...

 

One time when I was single, my mother sent me flowers at work. It was worse than getting nothing, since I thought they were from a guy at first. I have no idea what she was thinking, although I know she thought she was helping.

These days, I usually get some candy for my family and cook a favourite dinner.

Spellcheck really needs to learn that Canadian spellings are also correct.
