I think the fact everyone is so laissez-faire about it nowadays doesn't help either. I even heard one time that health classes advocate it to high schoolers now or that its been a serious consideration at one time or another. There's some downsides to the whole sexual revolution, in that a lot of traditions, not all of course but many, were established for good reasons. The problem with science is it takes a long time for it to finally catch up with the intuition of those who lived centuries before. I don't think its good to throw the baby out with the bathwater in terms of dismissing all conservative points of view.

Wet dreams have really never been an issue for me for some reason. I think my body expels it in very gradual amounts. How often did you have them, monthly or weekly?

Although, I haven''t ever gone longer not masturbating than I have now, which is only four weeks. I probably will experience it if I keep my abstinence up. Maybe, once I understand the rhythms of my body I could just sleep with some napkins wrapped around my crotch to keep my underwear from getting stained.

That's interesting u say all that, because, I used to paint a lot, before I was in highschool, and used to be a straight A student. That all changed when I lost the motivation to do such things, and I could never figure out what was causing that lack of drive and motivation. It had to be the masturbation, because I'm doing more projects and artwork again. If I just would hav known the value of abstaining, I wonder where I'd be at now. If I can choose making art over jizzing in a klenex, I'll choose the art.

I had a suspicion it had something to do with the friends I was hanging with, and it actually makes sense, cause they taught me about masturbating. It wasn't like they jerked me off, but we'd have lengthy discussions about girls and sex, and they brought up masturbating and explained how rubbing your dick feels good.

They figured it out through their brothers porno stash, and I figured it out through them and later watched my first pornos with them. My grades dropped significantly. I went from getting all A's to A's B's, and C's.

The pornographication of culture and wide acceptance of masturbation, which hasn't really been the case in much of the world ever, has to be degrading society in some way. Were really just guinea pigs or canaries in the coal mine for this whole late 20th and early 21st century experiment in self indulgence.

I get what you're saying about the whole culture thing; there are a lot of good things about sexual openness though- people keeping their issues to themselves don't often solve people's problems. Of course, I can only assume things as much as they affect me- it seems you've felt the same way. I do think people are generally over-sexed. I definitely don't think of myself as an exception- I masturbate more than the average person. It's also why I'd like to stop- it's such a distraction, and I don't like the way the oncoming of horniness takes command of my thoughts and seems to automatically subvert resistence to the urges despite my negative opinion of them. Like the larger part of my brain shuts off just so a small part of it can party.

The way I discovered masturbation was entirely on my own, as I've never felt it to be comfortable going off about my sexual urges with other people. Consequentaly, my technique is unorthodox- and there is the fact that I'm circumcized, so I've never had any foreskin to... fap? for lack of a better verb.

My first ejaculation was totally out of blue. I've been very sensual and easily stimulated since childhood. I remember getting a kick out of putting a wet cloth on my butt or back and feeling the water trickle down. One night in bed (I was 13), it felt like a torrent of pleasure washing over me and then suddenly there came an overwhelming high note, then fatigue and heavy breathing. I layed on my back and felt something wet other than the water, and you can guess what I found. After that, I was confused, curious, and enthralled, and tried to reproduce it in the manner of stimulating myself as I had always done since I was a kid, (except a full orgasm and ejaculation coming at the end was obviously a new thing). I finally landed on the pressing of the upper part of the penis, and that's how I've done it since. My sensitivity has decreased over the years; I don't know what's up with that. That first ejaculation by wet cloth was the strongest I've ever felt in orgasm. I couldn't imagine reaching orgasm that way now, and I can't seem to for the most part without my using my regular technique. People say though that the tollerance for those hormones grows and that's why it doesn't feel as great- kind of like any addicting drug, I guess.

Now that I do the math, it looks like I stopped masturbating at 15, and resumed at 19. That makes it a 4 year hiatus then.

I don't really share my experiences much either either. I usually keep it private unless I'm speaking through the anonymity of the internet like I am now. It was just a topic that came up with my friends, and I was really ignorant about it to begin with. Yah, the first one was strongest for me too. The weird thing was the semen was all clear and I was able to orgasm 5 times in a row. It had a kind of burning sensation too that's virtually non-existent anymore. I could see the value in abstinence in that regard, because of how amazing it felt. I think it would be fun sharing a first orgasm like that with a girl as opposed to my hand at such a young age. That's the thing too. I think we've been over-sexualized. You see it all over the place with pornography and even advertising. I think openness and lack of repression is a good thing, but there needs to be more of a balance. A lot of people would disagree.

One of my friends lives a really hedonistic lifestyle, and he said he's really desensitized to sex now. These are the kind of nuances nobody seems to really talk about, the sort of downside to the the whole lifestyle we've been lead to believe as ideal. I'd rather just make all my sexual experiences something really special than something that's approached like a drug habit.

It was hard to keep track of it, since I would feel relief in it not having happened for some time, then it would. I'm confident it would be around every 3 weeks, sometimes two nights in a row.

Though I'm reffering to having resumed masturbation as being a train-wreck, I do enjoy being able to go free at night (as in just sweat-pants or just shorts, or when it's too hot, nothing at all). I don't get any nocturnal emissions or wet dreams as of late.

When I was off, I would have to wear briefs- which are the easiest way to keep the cum from getting all over the place, so it's easier to clean up. But I would never know when the nocturnal emission would take place, so I had to wear them every night- but eventually I think I got comfortable going without them for the first week and a half after it had happened last. I find the restriction at night/lack of breathing room annoying.

Oh yeah, and about the small/gradual emissions you mentioned; I would get them too. I think I get them now, every so often. I can't really say what that is, or why it's happening, but if it's only happening now while you're off, I'd have to say that your body is trying to make up for it. I did say that the regularity of my nocturnal emissions only came after some time. The body will adjust, and that's where you'll find a pattern.

I rarely JO anymore either. Orgasm is just not something I obsess about anymore. 2 or 3 times a week I make love to my wife, that's plenty. This overly sexualized society we live in is not healthy. The best thing to do is not watch most TV. Almost all shows are about sex or feature people who are sexy. Why not clear the mind of that filth and concentrate on something healthy and good? Maybe there would be less adultery, broken homes and unwanted pregnancies and the world would be a better place.

exactly. I think there would be more creativity as well. I've had some amazing ideas while I've abstained. I've been putting a lot more energy into reading and research for my organic farming.

Are you able to redirect your energy? I found day 4 or five to be the hardest. After the first week and a half or so, its pretty easy to abstain after that. Well it was for me anyway.

I think giving up on masturbation is a good idea... if you're getting sex consistently
