Perhaps your little "joke" hit a little too close to home with people who may have had to play guessing games with psycho gf's who sent mixed messages and played games with peoples hearts because they felt entitled to be equal until equality became inconvenient. I'm lucky enough to not have dealt with that myself but know people who have and it isn't fun.

People tend to react negatively to dealing mixed messages... it's most definitely not a joke. My compassion to your bf. If he can somehow find happiness in his current situation then he is a saint.

What gave you away is the fact you brought up feminism. Women are actually horrified of feminism, because actual feminism would take away all their little privileges.

Feminism is so passe and unfavored among women, they don`t even mention it anymore. It`s actually hush-hush, and a little bit of a dirty word among the biologically female. Even light-hearted joking with the f word will get you perma-banned from the sisterhood.
