So, I decided to stop being such a massive lurker & start posting! this applies to all of my favorite lurk zones, so you may re-encounter these pics in gudu or dreadlocktruth if you frequent them My name is Livvi & my dreads turned 2 years old Dec. 28! yayyyyy!!!! I fucking love them. They were started using backcomb. No wax involved, although I did use a bit of this creme stuff like twice before I figured out it wasn't doing anything whatsoever haha. My hair pre-dreads was relaxed, and it made be absolutely fucking miserable. I always smile when I talk about my "brushable" hair, because my hair was never brushable, ever. My natural hair would be an epic afro. I haven't seen it in years. When I was a child I would get huge, solid dreadlocks OVERNIGHT that my mom had to rip out on the daily. My mom is caucasian with straight silky red hair so she had noooo idea how to handle mine... I hated my hair. I wanted it to be straight, so I began using relaxer toward the end of elementary school. What a mistake. I suffered chemical burns on several occasions and my hair always looked like shit because I didn't have anybody who knew what they were doing to do it. I chopped off my below-boob-length hair toward the end of high school because I was FED UP. Another mistake. It had been growing for over 10 years. My short 'do was cute but when my fro roots grew out it would stick up. I never managed to get it as straight as the other black girls I saw. Reapplying relaxer was a bitch. I had my blonde horse management major friend helping me do it in the bathtub of my dorm's community bathroom hahaha. Finally I grew sick of tormenting my hair and myself for no fucking reason and decided to transition to natural I had a decision to make. Afro or dreads. It took me a while to decide, but eventually I chose dreads. I wanted the experience, and I can have an afro whenever I want as I will NEVER go back to perming my hair, EVER. Soooo here they are! They were extended by ~4 inches when they were 11 months old. Many of those extensions have since fallen out, however. They were bleached & dyed pre-extensions, which royally fucked my already permed hair. Hey, whatever, it was a learning experience I plan on having dreads for the forseeable future. I adore it, it's SO EASY!!! Seriously compared to trying to torture my hair into looking like white people hair, relaxing, blowdrying, flat ironing, etc this is the easiest hair style of all time. I will never go back. I wash them with either baking soda & water or LUSH squeaky green. So here are some pictures to start out, I'm planning on constructing a massive hair timeline at some point.
thanks dude!! i have my tongue done too, it's actually kind of my favorite piercing i've had so far looking at these pics made me want to take the hemp wraps out, so I just finished doing that. I want to add some more colorful embroidery floss ones. also, what is a better way to resize/post pics on here besides uploading em? I suck at internets & compoooooters
Wow. I don't want to sound like a creeper, but you're gorgeous. Also, your locks look really good for only being two years old! Probably because of your hair texture.
MOAR! i can't say i really like the way my face looks in these pics... but they were taken with a good camera in natural light so they show the texture of my hair pretty well I really want a side picture of the hat i'm wearing, it's long and pointy with a poof ball on the end and i look like an elf with it on ( :
Thanks Glen!!!! It's nice to speak with you, your posts crack me up and you seem like a really nice guy. I have some more I'm gonna put up tonight or tomorrow that show off my hair better probably tonight, as I need to take frequent breaks from my stupid seminar I'm preparing augh!!! other dude: i feel sorry for any girl that gets duped into being involved with a shallow, rude pig like you. From your picture, you really shouldn't be playing the rating game "brah."
