What would be the best way to secure a small marble with hemp string? I want to keep the marble as is and not drill into it or do any physical changes to it
the best thing i can personally suggest is that you wire wrap the marble. i dont really know how else the thing would stay put, thats just my suggestion tho
thin leather between the marble and the hemp and after u make it tight soak it in water then dry and it will shrink too the marble. Might take a few tries till you perfect the technique
I'd start by tying a loop just a bit too small for the marble to slip through, and fasten other cords on the loop and knot around it. It helps to use a bit of tape to hold the marble in place until you've got enough knots to hold it. Once the marble is secured, divide the cords and keep knotting to make the bracelet/necklace/whatever.
I like the leather suggestion. You could consider making a net of some sort, but it would hide the marble some.
