Started working at mcdonalds... Its sooooo depressing... Sure I get paid and that is nice, thats the only reason I'm there. But I have to vent a little. First, the staff NEVER speaks english which makes me feel a little uncomfortable. I have nothing against speaking in spanish, some people are more fluent in it than english and thats fine. Second, most customers assume you arent educated. I asked a man who had a long order to repeat it because while putting in his order I forgot one or two items, he rolled his eyes and repeated it s u p e r s l o w l y and a rather loudly also. It made me feel terrible. I could go on all day about it.

Anyone else had experience at mcdonalds? I just had to vent a little, made me feel sooo much better.

I used to do other cool stuff before, house painting, yard clean up, construction, random junk like that. But I never had a "salary" type job, I was just paid per job, and they came very infrequently... I loved doing those jobs, being outdoors, getting a great workout, wearing dirty clothes. AHHH just the smell of the morning grass brings me back. The pay was MUCH better too, 15-20 an hour, very nice. It felt good to see the customers happy face when they see the house painted and looking just the way they liked it. OH WELL until I finish college I have to deal with it, and with this market, probably a bit after I get my degree too.

 

Customer service mate. That industry is shit.

 

You dont work on an hourly wage at mcdonalds? Are you like manager or something?

 

Well I must have said that wrong, I never had an hourly wage before. When I did the math my jobs came out to 15-20 but we went by job not hour. But no, at mcdonalds I get hourly. sorry, I didnt put that in the best way on my post. Woops just read it, i put salary instead of hourly. My bad

 

I once had to put up with a huge dick, he was yelling at me because I wouldn't roll down my window. I got a ticket.

McDonalds isn't food anyways, so put up with the abuse as best you can...... Just don't eat the stuff.

 

McDonalds disgusts me...I feel physically sick at the thought of consuming that!

 

I worked at mcdonalds when i was 16. that place is beneath me..

 

It does make an effective laxative, other than that it has no use.....

 

hey on the brighter side, i live w/ these 2 kids 5 and 8 year old. so,, since they bug me all the time, and the 5 yr old girl is evil straight up, i told them... THAT I WORK AT MCDONALDS as the guy everyone talks to online when you order from your computer. still laughing about it. yes they believe me. and i told them that 3 days ago. i even went to some website for philipines mcdonalds and showed them. a crispy chicken meal turned out to be $250 NO LIE. and over there they serve spaghetti,rice and some other weird stuff. well since they obsesessed with sonic the hedgehog and mario, im going to tell them they ordered from me today (they use their "likeness" in the video games hehe, unless you have a better reason for them actually being real ppl)

 

I feel sick consuming fastfood period. Its so unhealthy it should be illegal. I feel sorry for anyone who is a drone working for such a shit organization. Hopefully you can find a new job fast! You Must get out of their! I haven't ate fastfood in over two years and i feel great! Good Luck.

 

when i lived in mendo village, they dont have corp chains or fast food stores. really small town. the market sells half organic food, lots of vegetarian food, some name brand stuff.

let me say this: damn did i ever crave some mcdonalds or taco bell after awhile lol.
AND: i used to work for taco bell, and dude it sucked ballz. get a new job and fast!

 

my sister works the drive through register. she says guys always try to ask her out and give her their numbers. lol

 

You know what really annoys me people bagging out mc donalds'.

Yes that food is crap, but how many teenagers used it a a first job. And I'm sorry but things like ronald mcdonalds house and the many other countless things they do. I think should cut them some slack.

nobody forces anybody to eat it, but at least they try to give back something and those kids who are sick really love it.

 

I fail to see anything good at all about McDonalds. They 'try to give back something' !? All they care about is making money, nothing else.
Not sure what countless things you're talking about, as I tend to avoid the place like a bad smell....but I would guess they're publicity stunts designed to sell more of their plastic food and improve their already tarnished image.

Their 'food' is unhealthy for the individual and their method of obtaining and manufacturing it is unhealthy for the planet. They really dont deserve to be cut any slack. /rant over

And you tell that to the family who is staying in the hospital at one of their houses where one of their kids is sick and odds are not the best. When mcdonalds is phasing for them to live there free.

or sending them to a vacation home for one last family holiday.

Or being that kid in the hospital for months, seeing the stupid clown with a happy meal brightens that week, of tests and operations.


Pr or not it's a lot better then other companies.
