This thread will probably fail... sigh Don't hear enough about Tull on these forums.. I used to hate Tull.. But it grows on you because there is something magical about a Tull song that drifts you off to another place. So many songs, so many diverse sounds. No two Tull albums sound alike. So this thread is for Tull... Better than the Beatles, in my opinion. Few favorite songs.... My God Locomotive Breath Slipstream Too Old To Rock n Roll, Too Young To Die Velvet Green Look Into the Sun Black Satin Dancer Fire At Midnight Moths Broadsword Requiem TOO MANY TO NAME!!! And for those of you that know I have a vinyl collection.. I am close to having most every Tull album on LP... Original pressings :afro: When it is complete there will be pictures...
Ive never really got into them, but then havent given them much of a chance so far. What album would you recommend me to start with, if I were to give them another go?
Well my favorite Tull album is a tie between Aqualung and Songs From the Wood.. Minstrel in the Gallery is another flawless album.. I would suggest those three... They all sound very different because Tull changed there sound on different albums.. Try those three first.. Aqualung Minstrel in the Gallery Songs From the Wood
big fan of tull back in the day haven't listened to my albums in a while, thanks for the reminder. :2thumbsup:
Aqualung is a fucking trip on vinyl! I've listened to them my whole life with my dad and on many classic rock stations over the years lol I mostly got into them from them being a Iron Maiden influence in late elementary/Jr.high. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQFfUQxLHdk"]Cross-Eyed Mary - Iron Maiden (Lyrics) HIGH QUALITY - YouTube
I mostly dislike Tull but oddly enough the Thick As A Brick album is among my alltime favorite compositions.
I saw them in Hawaii -early 70s-and they came out without a word and played Thick as a Brick all the way thru. When they finished the complete album and the applause died out ,Anderson said "and now for our second song'---
