Is anyone else tired of movies in general these days? It seems to me that most every new movie that comes out is just a painful reminder of how the movie industry is just a gigantic hype toward the purchase of a eight dollar bag of popcorn and seven dollar ticket. It's beginning to feel like movies are mass produced stereotypes and cliches crammed into one huge multiplex.

As someone interested in film making and movies, I would like to see a movie that can capture the same senses people can feel when they get lost in emotion during their favorite music. I feel like there is so much more power that could be produced in a movie that directors and agents and over-paid actors have over looked. A fresh breath into the mainstream movie production would be beautiful. You can tell just by looking at the previews before your next movie how grim the future of cinema is.

I haven't paid to see a movie since they hit the $7 mark about 6-7 years ago.

There are still some good ones coming out, but they're few and far between, I always just wait until they hit video to see them now though.

Well, with that said i think there are also some pretty good movies that have come out recently. Well, i say recently, but i mean within the last years or so...

And what is a proven formula in a strong money driven industry will be beaten and beaten until all the cash has been coughed up. I think we are in the minority of people who dont like ridiculous shit on the screen, and until that is reversed, the formula wont be altered.

But there are some nifty films coming out, in particular, and also the last movie i saw in Theaters, i heart huckabees. This was an interesting existential movie that came out as an indy, but driven by word (and world) of mouth and human curiousity it began to make somewhat of a splash, this is good i think.

I also think being that this is around Oscar and Golden Globe time, that underseen movies that are actually grand pieces of contemporary film (which could just be trash is placed to any other period of time) will start to emerge and whatnot. (such as this Motorcycles Diares, which i have heard of and understand it as a nice reflection on the life of a man who is somewhat skewed by what ever the hell is happening)

It's funny that i just had three thoughts on three movies, all books... Fear and Loathing, Trainspotting, Lord of the Rings. Maybe we just need better books, ha.

Yeah, remakes kinda suck, but hey man, like i said, the more that people start to realize they do, that formula will fail and fall.

Keep your eyes open for the real projection's flicker.
