I just recently sized up, like yesterday, and i had a few problems with my left ear, i kinda had to be extra forceful to get it in. today the pain is excruciating, i used a seasalt wash to clean it and took some pain relievers but the seasalt only helped temporarily, and the ibuprofen is not doing its job...... do you think i might have ripped my ear, i just jumped from a 7/16 to a half inch. ive never had problems with my ears in the past, and like, do you think i may have ripped it? id hate to take it out if i can leave it in and be fine, right now i have silicone in because thats all i had, could this be the culprit also? im thinking full ear removal is in order, but my friends seem to think otherwise. the pic shows it as it is, its not very red or swollen, no skin bubble type things, so im not sure whats wrong, maybe i just need to man up? anything helps, so thanks
Hey moe I think the problem might be the type of gauge you used. They look double flared...and those are always hard to put in when you first stretch to a new size. They are silicone so it should be a bit easier but still double flared is never good to use till your ears have fully healed from the stretch. What I would do is take the double flared ones out and get a pair that is single flared. Then take a hot shower and put the single flared ones in.
omg the thought of taking these out and shoving new ones in is making my eyes water already lol, idk if you know this but imma huge pussy
well i had been at that size for like uhhhhh 6 months and it was all healed, i guess i worded wrong, i had to struggle more than force. its actually feelingbetter now i used some of whatever the place gave me when i got my second holes done, just basic ear cleaning solution, the ibuprofen is kicking in and im content, thanks for the advice tho ♥
ive never done that but i know a lot of people do and like it, i think im stopping here, but if i decide to go up again ill keep it mind
Aw Moey, wish I had the expertise to help. It does look pretty cool though if that helps, pity about the HUGE PAIN. <3
Well it doesn't look cool anymore I'll post a pic of it, it's pretty mutilated tho. Not a pretty site. Mr. Philosophy was right, shoulda been patient. Now Im probably going to have to let it close up and restretch....
stretching should never hurt - taping slowly is generally a safe/easy way to go, especially past ~2G. also, silicone is notorious for causing blowouts when used to stretch. something nonporous and not double flared is ideal for stretching (eg. pyrex/surgical steel/titanium bullet shaped plugs). once its healed a bit, massaging with biooil or jojoba will help break down scar tissue/help get ready for future stretching.
it healed up rather nicely and im back into stretching out, going a lot slower this time. i had to start back down at a 10 and im to a 6 now, going up to a four tonight then ill start taping once im at a 2g. it looks a lot better, ive been rubbing vitamin e oil on it, my other ear helaed up awesome tho, still rubbing it with vit e to keep it from getting irritated
