Does anyone watch this show? If so what do you think? And does anyone have their own desperate housewife story to tell. Maybe a confession? Being that this is the womans issues forum maybe this is a good place for desperate housewives to confess their despirations and seek comfort in knowing they are not the only one with seme secrets of their own. And be of womanly comfort to each other. You don't have to be a housewife to respond. Everyone is somebody's neighbor.
*hangs head in shame* I watch this show. At first, before I had actually viewed it, I was offended by the name and ready to get my claws out. But, after I saw it, I actually found it entertaining, even though it is kind of fruitty. I think I like it because it is one of the few shows that I have seen that is more "pro woman", where we don't see half naked females, we see half naked men. Yay! Anyway, I do watch the show when I remember it's on. My guilty confessions? Hmm, well, I don't have any juicy ones to share. I'm a pretty tame lady. For the most part. Hugs...
Half naked men???? Hmm, I ruled out watching this show on it's title alone. Perhaps I should reconsider. I was under the impression that it was a married version of Sex in the City. I guess I was wrong. I'm not desperate. (No good lookin men in my neighborhood anyway, and my dh is pretty damn good in bed LOL!)
i was under the impression it was just a show about a bunch of housewives who cheat on their husbands? i think i can do without that
It's a show with different types of women with each their own issues in this neighborhood. One person is a sahm with like 4 kids her husband works and she's always overwhelmed trying to be a good mom and wife another woman is rich and cheats on her husband another woman killed herself and her family is trying to cope one is a perfectionist and in the midst of a devorce and her kids are rebelling I just find it intresting because they capture regular peopel prety well. Each one's storry slowely unravels and so do their lives. As they each find they can nolonger keep their secrets from one anotehr they each try harder to hide them from each other but it never works and slowely start to turn to each otehr for help ( and gossip)There is some little twists here and there some thigns ar corney. I don't watch much tv. But I like this show.
i admit, i watched the show... twice. its not soooo soooo bad, ive definitely seen worse, but still rather corny. i do think its a misrepresentation on housewives... my mom was a housewife for 20 years, then divorced my dad and became the hardest worker i know. she had 6 kids within 7 years, so i know that she knew how to work hard and deal with ALOT of shit from everyone. i think my mom is my biggest roll model because she is soooo strong, and people thought she was weak because she let my father support us, but now she supports everyone and is proud of all she does.... god, i really dont know how she does it, she works 7 days a week now... i cant even do 6 days a week without cracking. i guess the show shows the "modern housewife" or at least the idealistic one. i dont get it, oh well, its just TV.... cant think too much into it.. peace and love
I like the show a lot. You shouldn't let the name decide the show for you. Of course it's a little exaggerated- it's television. But I think Applespark is right in that it captures real people and real issues in a funny, interesting, and attention grabbing way. There's a woman with nightmarish twin boys and a baby and she's constantly feeling overwhelmed and awful about herself. She thinks that there's something wrong with her until she tells her seemingly perfect neighbor ladies how she feels and they tell her that they've gone through it too and tell her their stories. She's all cryey and says, "We should tell each other these things!" It's silly and cheesy sometimes, but I think it's a fun show to watch.
I actually watched it the other night, because of the comments here... It was pretty good. If I remembered what night it's on, I would watch it more often
Props to your mother! I hate to admit that my sister got me watching this show. I am not a big fan or anything, but it isn't a bad way to pass an hour on sunday night.
me too!!! I never really watch tv but this show rocks! If I miss it I download it..im that hooked... the season finale almost killed me!! lol
I may be a guy but I still watch the show, my step-sister got me hooked on it. One look at Marcia Cross (Bree) and I couldn't stop watching it.:& The show is appealing to me because I always picture myself as Mr. Solis. The whole cheating wife thing...
