Comedienne and actress Roseanne Barr has announced her candidacy for President of the US! She hopes to be the Green Party candidate and will run on a platform that includes legalization of marijuana. She also is going to focus on the needs of the 99% instead of the 1%. If she runs, she is likely to get a lot of media attention due to her fame and comic wit. It should make this election far more interesting... Currently Roseanne runs a 46 acre macadamia nut farm on the Big Island of Hawaii. Her latest project (besides the farm) was a reality TV show based on her farm, called Roseanne's Nuts. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...arr-files-paperwork-2012-White-House-bid.html
 I don't really know what else to say, but lol... Maybe just that I agree with the sentiments behind this, but... no, just no. And I say that with love. <3
Interesting information, Skip! Thanks for bringing this news to our attention. Roseanne Barr for President - at least her speeches would make us laugh instead of cry! I'm currently in Ron Paul's corner, but if he drops out (which is not likely), she's got my vote! How can she do any worse than the ones we've had for the last few decades? Answer: she can't! One Of The Difference ___________________________________________________________ "The purpose of the Government is to protect the personal liberty of it's citizens - not to run their personal lives; not to run the economy; and not to think that we can tell the rest of the world how they ought to live." ....... Ron Paul, 2012 "I am absolutely opposed to a National ID card - this is a total contradiction of what a Free Society is all about. The purpose of the American Government is to protect the privacy of all individuals; not to protect the secrecy of Government. We don't need a National ID Card." ....... Ron Paul, 2012
It's a shame that in America people feel that entertainers are qualified to make important political decisions and policies.
I think roseanne would shit a meatloaf if she had to sit at a table with all those other crazy scary leaders of the world.
Dear Kodiestarland - You're absolutely right. Comedians have no business being in politics. I mean, seriously, in my capacity as the senator from Minnesota, I object. Sincerely, Al Franken
That would be like voting for my buddy Jeff. He's a hellova guy.....he has good beliefs, a lot of cool ideas, but is in no way shape or form qualified to be the president of America. In reality I have no buddy named Jeff, but you get my point.
Believe me, I understand your point. But in order to be a clown in the oval office you need to know how to be very diplomatic when dealing with the other countries of the world. Imagine Rossane in a meeting with the powers of the world. I can foresee any random country saying something to her that would ruffle her feathers so to speak. I see her flipping a bitch and telling them to go suck a fat dick.....which in theory might sound a bit refreshing. But in reality would put us in danger of an all new war to deal with. We need a "Don Corleonne." someone who can remain calm and collective, even if being greatly insulted by a great enemy. Take emotion out of it. And I'm not saying that because she's a woman....I'm saying it because she's Rossane
Well- much hinges on the clown posse... speech writers, handlers, and such. A potential president's fitness to hold office might be judged in part on the caliber of people he or she surrounds him/herself with in real life. It shows a kind of wisdom that just can't be coached. These are the people that such a person would confide in when facing a difficult situation. There's also something to be said for how a candidate can handle scandalous personal information- how well they think on their feet and whether or not they get too combative. We'll never get a truly squeaky clean candidate ethically or morally... there will always be something to be dug up- and that's probably for the better. the process of being able to gracefully put a pile of shit behind you will mature the right person... and impress that level of cool while under fire. I don't know where that places Roseanne- though she has made herself enough of a caricature without the added baggage of politics that I couldn't vote for her..... even if I held my nose while pulling the lever. Campaign season offers the voters the chance to see exactly how stupid political insiders judge them to be based on the campaign ads being run..
Perfectly said. There's a certain level of discipline that we need in our leaders, to trust that they'll be able to get things done smoothly. W was a Jeff; we don't want another Jeff.
