its hard for me to pick ... it would have to be master of puppets ... if it didnt have that interlude, that completely kills the song... actually any of the 'ride the lightning' album is great, but my favorites are 'escape', 'trapped under ice' and 'for whom the bell tolls'...
Difficult to choose but would have to say -turn the page or fade to black . Sorry i cant pick just one thats like eating one peanut.
Everything on the black album is golden. I've had a hard time listening to their other albums last few years, but i can always go back to the black album. So any song on it wins. You choose.

mmmm the black album, some Metallica Fans back when that came out were saying they sold out they mellowed out. Now I'm old school fan, I think the Ride the lighting or Puppets would be the best ones they did. Master of Puppets just kicks ass or For whom the bell tolls. Then And justice was good too........
Creeping Death also still not sick of: Disposable Heroes,The Four Horsemen,Master Of Puppets,Damage Inc.,Fade To Black,For Whom The Bell Tolls, Blackened and Phantom Lord
For Whom the Bell Tolls Creeping Death The Call of Ktulu Fight Fire With Fire The Four Horsemen Phantom Lord No Remorse Whiplash Orion Master of Puppets The Thing That Should Not Be Disposable Heroes Damage Inc. To Live Is To Die Eye of the Beholder ... And Justice For All The only post-1988 Metallica song I care for is Sad But True... Metallica's first four albums are fanfuckingtabulous!
