Back in the early 70's there was a lot of "mescaline" available. Sometime called "chocolate mescaline" etc.

Anyone here old enough to remember it? Was it really mescaline?

I recall it being mellower than acid.

    Is it still around?

I certainly remember it, don't know how it was derived.

Mescaline is mellower than acid in my exploration of cacti trips containing mescaline. I've never heard of chocolate mescaline and a lot of stuff claimed to be mescaline these days is research chemicals.

Long before any designer or research chemicals, but it was definitely different than the acid back then like Orange Sunshine, Windowpane. We were in the same area :) "rustbelt Ohio" I always liked the mesc better.

Back in the day I was in western PA..... not that far away. In the 80's I was in Columbus Ohio, campus area..... lots of stuff there too. I can't say I had a preference, both acid and mescaline had their individual purposes.

I was sold a microdot back in the 80's that was claimed to be mescaline. It was actually really good LSD, I didn't complain. After taking several San Pedro trips in the last few years I can tell the difference now.

Cool what was the difference for you? From what I remember the "mescaline" was mellower, didn't plunge you toward ego death like LSD. Colors and trails were there but not as intense as LSD. So I was never sure if it was just a lower dose of acid, or really mescaline.

I've never tried San Pedro. Should I?

Yup I would say your comparison mirrors my own experiences with the two, save the last part about intensity. Mescaline is more smooth and flowing and mellow, however DO NOT believe that it can't get intense. A high dose of mescaline is like a high dose of any psychedelic and can get wierd.
If you really want to experience a good mescaline cactus try Bridgesii. It's related to San Pedro but stronger. Chop it up like a cucumber, boil it for 4-6 hours, strain and you got yourself one helluva tea time. :sunny:

i took both back in the 70's and thought mesculine was the most amazing best feeling ever. LSD was more speedy. Mesc took a long time to come on, but also seemed to last longer. You could have great sex on it as well.

    There where other chems.......

DOx had been around and sometimes used to adulterate or mimic acid since the first half of the 60's..... And other synthetic PEAs too, I think.

Edit-for example, that vague description in the post above mine could easily be DOx, mescaline's comeup should actually be close to cid, i think.

Thanks for the advice. I'm looking into it, seems like you can buy "cuttings" are those OK to use?

that's what you want for making tea, a fresh cutting. You can use dried chips too if the cuttings aren't available.
