Are you saying LSD isn't safe because of an increase in hospital visits even though the article states that often times it's polydrug use?

Yes those incidents exclude LSD for me as being the SAFEST PSYCHEDELIC. As well as mistaking whatever obscure reseacrch chem as LSD and Oding, as well as mistaking LSD for heroin and oding. Yah those "pesky details" certainly bar it from the top on the psychedelic totem poll of safety for me.

 

I would consider shrooms to be the most safe of the delics. One when you take them you pretty much know you're getting shrooms, cause you can see them as shrooms lol. Another reason is because of the nonaddictive nature and low active dose of shrooms.

 

I wasn't campaigning LSD as the SAFEST PSYCHEDELIC. As there are no hard and absolute numbers tho, I would say it's impossible to split hairs between the classics (mescaline, shrooms) and LSD. The "pesky details" comment refers to those things that are commonly left out of the commentary whenever someone dies and "they" want to blame it on drugs. Such as the Ozzie story you posted. What else did that guy take? What health or mental issues might be involved? Those things aren't usually talked about. It's usually just "LSD killed my kid", for a sensational headline.

None of those things make LSD less safe IMO. If one pops 5 codeines and washes it down with 12 oz of Jack Daniels and dies, does that make codeine unsafe? That is precisely why news reports are usually bullshit. It's why you and I were picking apart that report of the death from methylone. It's why people thought Diane Linkletter died "from LSD" and then that story became part of the prohibition narrative in the 60's.

On the other hand, as you said it would be hard to confuse actual san pedro for something else, whereas a piece of blotter or random powder could contain all sorts of things. That too doesn't make LSD inherently more dangerous, that's the fault of someone slinging shit and calling it LSD. Which is just another example of why I advocate for harm reduction. Most psychedelic ER visits and deaths are preventable, and can be attributed to misuse, unscrupulous dealers, ignorance of the subject, and putting oneself in harms way while tripping. You're a smart cat, you know all that. :2thumbsup:

I wouldn't argue LSD is safer than the ancient psyches, I would hope you wouldn't argue LSD is unsafe because of the pop-culture urban legends that have gone around either.

 

I would agree with LSD. I agree with the mescaline and marijuana ( depending on how it is injested).. But how can I know that I am getting real LSD?
