There's a few ozzies in the house... If someone was to find themselves (a yank visiting that is) in the Sydney area, near the coast, what suggestions might one have for a hip place to chill with a good setting for a psychedelic evening? That person being more of a nature, outdoor person than a younger club setting kinda guy.
Or the beach. I would say a private beach at sunset is also good. Beaches can be populated and can make you have a paronoria.
My friends mom just got back from 7 weeks in Aus and said Byron Bay has on of the best vibes a town could want, full of hippies and just a really chillin' place. I just googled and thats around 9 hours drive from Sydney, not sure if it's what you're looking for but apparently it's definitely worth checking out. And also in a place like Aus, you're never too far from the wilderness, so may as well Major jealous anyway how long you going for?
T'was alright, wasn't my bag but that was mostly cause of the cat's I hung with. I think there's alot more to see of Oz than Sydney (of course) but I did enjoy many fine beerz, some good food, and a professional rugby match. (which you'll never see in the states) So all in all, ok.
Like you said, theres so much more to Australia than Sydney. The cities are the worst part of oz in my opinion... There're so many beautiful natural places to go and see and so much wilderness to explore...makes me nostalgic for the place
