Hi guys so I have been smoking ciggareetes on and off for about a year. Just recently about a month ago while I am smoking and shortly after when I inhale I hear a squek but when I breathe deeply it I cant hear it.

The squeak is like a high pitch. Kind of hard to explain I am not wheezing but its there. And I dont even have a smokers cough.

So do I have early stages of cancer?

That's probably not on the list of "early signs of lung cancer"... But, yeah, quit smoking anyways.

I doubt it, but I dont think diagnosis' for these kinds of things can be made by HFers reading your post. Dont get me wrong, were good for alot of things, but this might be a little beyond our area of expertise.

That being said it could be asthma or an infection or pneumonia or a million other things so... I dont think youre dying.

Have yourself looked at, and quit smoking. New studies show smoking cigarettes is bad for you.

Web MD that shit. But know, I don't think your lungs crying means cancer. They have those fancy new smokeless cigarettes now

going to the doctor is probably a good idea.

you almost certainly don't have cancer, and if a little bit of a wheeze is your only symptom, you probably don't have any other serious condition either

it will probably clear up if you just stop smoking

if you continue to smoke, there is a very good chance that you will get cancer, or any of a range of other smoking related illnesses like emphysema or copd, not to mention killing yourself or others through accidental fires

it will only get harder to quit the longer that you smoke. do yourself a favor and let your fear of cancer help you quit now

Im a practitioner. No that is not symptomatic of cancer. The wheeze type squeak is normal in a smoker. Lung cancer usually has the start of a cough where there was none before. Also coughing up a spray of blood is suspect. In more advanced cases you would experience wasting and no appetite. If you have cancer in the family have a check up anyway. All the best. Hope this puts your mind at ease.

If you're young, lung cancer is extremely, extremely unlikely.
