Hi... I have been looking into alot of different retreats as Im looking at going to one mid year this year... Just wondering if anyone has gone to any or any recommendations as theres shit loads out there... any help would be great...thank!!!
Thanks thats why being hipes carefully on choosing a retreat. Funny I did watch A Doco on CHimbre the other day... looks OK have you been there yourself
Nope but if I were to go then I'd definitely pick them Or Ron wheelock if I'm feeling more adventurous: http://www.ronwheelock.com/
Don't go to retreat centers. Go to shipibo villages with gifts and cane alcohol and drink with the real 'huasceros. Brush up on your spanish.
Thanks for the link will check out.... Um without food are you talking about the dieta for Aya??? Dont need to fast unless you want to train as a shaman I hear, you jusy have to eat healthy and cut out some foods before during and right after... is this what your talking bout Kill???
Just checked this out looks different from alot of others ive checked out...might pass cheers have you checked or heard of this http://refugio-altiplano.com/index.html looking here now possibly
No risk, No reward. You can go these fancy retreats and pay hundreds, or suck it up and find a guide to take you to the real indigenous healers. If you find the real deal you could drink for months in the jungle and not pay a single dime, just gifts of cane alcohol or something useful like that. I know the prepackaged deal is hard to resist because of that quick-fix, instant gratification through purchasing tendency that capitalism has produced in many of us. You will be wiser to find the real thing instead of some prefabricated shamanic tourist trap.
Yeah true, point considered... would love to find a real deal in the jungle, but only can stay 7 or so days, seems this method would take some time etc.... money isnt an issue really, so may go to Peru this time and then next year for longer period to Brazil Jungle as I understand the language... so could be an advantage there!!
That's all implied in going down there. You could travel cheaper, too there are other ways if you get creative. Some people have very flexible occupations or make enough money to go disappear in South America for a few months. Lucky Bastards.
Been to Ecuador but haven't been to a retreat center down that way or any aya gatherings. My only experiences with aya were in the states.
Well I'm in no authorization to speak on behalf of the inca's or any other indigenous tribe for that matter on shamanic initiation or entitlement, assuming that it doesn't differentiate (which it does) so I'm gonna go ahead and ignore that in order to take Ayahuasca you should go 24/7 without food or drugs "The warnings about tyramine interaction sound very serious, because they are adapted from warnings about interactions with pharmaceutical MAOIs. However, food interaction with Ayahuasca is frankly not as serious a matter as it is with pharmaceutical MAOIs. food interactions could conceivably be life-threatening for a person with severe high blood pressure or serious heart disease." quote from http://www.ayahuasca.com/science/what-foods-and-drugs-need-to-be-avoided/ as far to my knowledge is on the subject the only safe Ayahuasca diet is brown organic rice think about all the trace ppm amounts of very possible drug from farma that is in the public water system...over 10,000 ...think about how much of tape water is used in processed foods. PS certain foods mixed with Ayahuasca will kill you so it is far better to follow the experts guidlines than be foolish and arrogant. be safe and read through all of it if you're gonna make the stuff at home http://www.ayahuasca.com
