I remember reading it in like 4th grade, and it really grossed me out... I couldn't finish it. I haven't looked at it since then... so, I don't know. I would go for it, though, if you want to read it.... can't hurt. :)

I read Into Thin Air... it was a real drawl.. somewhere in the middle I got cut off because it got kind of.. old. The movie was better than the book was. I heard his other books are a lot better.

I loved Into The Wild. I read in all in a few days. I couldn't put it down. I deffinately recommend it. I haven't read anything else by Krakauer though.

that is a great book!! it is probably one of the first books that really influenced me. although the ending isn't exactly "ideal," it got me more interested in traveling and getting closer to nature. VERY fascinating......Peace, Stacey

I agree that this a great book. it really helped to change the way I thought about things. I have read it several times in the last few years. I have also read a couple of Krakauer's other books but thought that "Inot the Wild" was the best.

Agreed. I read it once long ago, then saw it in the bookstore and bought it. Read it in an afternoon, it was so engrossing! I couldn't put it down. Definitely check this book out.
