What does it cost to let go? I mean, let go of everything: money, work, school, a home, and more over, the security that we find in these things. I just want to get out and roam the country, you know? What does it take to do that. How can you find people like us in todays world? I just want to get up and go, but all of the what-ifs are intimidating. Any advice?
I can relate, and I use the "fuck it" method. If something is stressing me out, or I want to go somewhere to get away: I put everything down, and go. Do what makes YOU happy. I know I catch myself needing a moment that's all mine, so that's what I do. I maybe speaking on a smaller scale if you are actually wanting to leave the country, but someone told me to use the "fuck it" method and it really does work. Hoped you can get something from this!
Well you seem to already know the cost of life on the road, giving up the things you know and love for things that are unknown. It take the ability to adapt mentally and physically to constantly changing environments that at most times you will have very little or no control over. This can be very intimidating and scary and things can happen very quickly so keeping your wits about you is important. But the rewards can be many and its a great way to find out what you are made of and what value if any you place on creature comforts. And the thing is you can never really tell whats around the turn ahead or how it will effect your fortune. One thing thats a guarantee is putting your self out there will change your life one way or another.
i want the same thing. but you need time to prepare yourself. The security you have being a "normal" citizen is the hardest part to let behind. yea, i like the "fuck it" method. =)
You may find after you let go, it wasn't exactly what you wanted. I can laugh now and enjoy telling of old hitchhiking stories, and they were great experiences..... but those experiences didn't come without it's drawbacks. When you let go you have nothing... and there are times, especialy when you are hungry for example that you may wish you had somethings. : - )
Ive been on the road for 34 yrs, wanna trade places? Im in South America right now, missing my family/country/culture/friends I cant recover the decades I lost wintering south but dont tolerate cold very well. Ive traveled all over and only survive living off my dad's sucsess. Travel is a hassle, worse for tourists who I see always in a rush and stressed out. There is no freedom without discipline. The truth is simple and obvious. The carrot of freedom is one of the greatest traps. Loving those you have is the gift.:daisy: getting better at it is a telent. Getting free of that is hell, my advise is apply your skills of love better where youre at. OR maybe you can tell me what would you do once you got free of ''everything'' ? Im not qualified to give advise so very possibly gave you a formula for disaster. Get free of freedumb. Dont be attached or trapped but love. Express love, expand your capacity to love. Remember Dorathy in 0z? This was NOT a friendly place, lots of colors and sparkles, but a wretched place away from love. When she returns she expresses her love, something pp are failing to do.
