Most of us have some kinds of daily ritual. It could be just a certain time of day you set aside to play with the dog, laying your clothes out at night for the next day, meditating or any number of things. I find comfort in my rituals.

I start my day with a cup of hot tea and some quiet time either in my plant room or out in the garden. Sometimes Amos my cat joins me, chill time before the day begins.

From childhood I remember the church always had a red Sanctuary Candle burning day and night. It meant you were welcome and safe there. I like the idea and made my own Sanctuary Lamp from a handsome old carriage lamp and a red glass votive candle. I often light it in the evening or on wintertime weekends. It grounds me, feels warm and safe.

This may have been posted before but things that give us comfort or certainty are important, esspecially as the world's maddness seems to encroach. What kind of things do you do? What rituals are part of your life?

    I really don't have any.

I'm all over the fucking place, each day different from the next. It drives my woman crazy.

i post on here most days. that's about it right now.

i do tend to fall into routines pretty easily, but my current schedule just doesn't allow it.

Coffee and orange juice in the morning. I really can't stand it but I found out my day starts kinda messed up if I have to skip one of them (generally because I ran out :p)

    Thanks, Ziggy

Home is sanctuary and all about chill...I've got over 30 years on this hilltop and theres real comfort here. Raised all 7 boys here too, lots of memories. Each of them has made their mark on the place too...helping build stuff or plant trees. Deep roots here...

I always check that all the plug sockets around the house and the cooker are switched off before I leave for work.

At night I tug at the bedcovers and pillows until I fall asleep. Drives lithium nuts.

    Coffee
Write down any dreams I remember or odd thoughts I have upon waking
Smudge with sage or cedar or both
Greet the day with thanks and prayer

Writing about my day before I sleep.

    other than that, pure randomness
