Can someone b gay without anal ?

I am just wondering how possible is it for male gays not to engage in anal sex, and use other methods for love, sex, and pleasure. Open to all feedback.

My friend thinks he might be gay and mentioned this.

Sure you can be gay without indulging in anal sex. You can also be heterosexual and indulge in anal sex so it's not a defining feature of being gay.

Mutual masturbation, fingering anus, body work... . Not all gays indulge in anal sex. Plenty do as part of masturbation, and this is at least safer. Suggest to your friend to get his gear off, you do the same, bed it and explore. That's a sure fire way to find out if he's gay and appreciate another male body next to him.

Yes, of course. It's like saying I can't have a sexuality as I've never had sex. Despite what most people think (especially straight males), anal sex is not a defining feature of being gay. I'm sure more gay men than people think, do not partake in anal sex. Who you're attracted to on a physical, and emotional level, dictates your sexuality. Sex acts do not.
