i guess i used the word 'recall' wrong... what i meant was 'i believe i never bought anything because i saw it on an ad' yet, im sure some people buy because of ads ...
the first goal of advertising is to create awareness. i don't think i've ever bought anything because of an ad, but i've also never bought anything that i didn't know existed. so advertising has probably had some influence there anyway.
I don't have TV so these days commercials don't affect me at all. Well, I suppose I do listen to the radio, but more often than not, I tune those out. I have to admit, the commercials that spark my interest most are food commercials. I'm not an anti-fast food nazi (though after eating it SO much for so long and being so fucking tired of it, I probably should be) so I have a tendency to get roped into the new additions to fast food restaurants. And I will tell you right now, if I could get my hands on one of those InStylers, I'd friggin' lose it. That hair thingy is amazing. But the price matches the amazingness, so I have to pass for now. Those HerStyler flat irons are AMAZING, too, but the advertisement I got from that was a free demo in the mall. My hair (well half of it) looked freaking amazing. Those things are also fucking $$$$. Damn.
