60's ago and Shamans had been using it all this time. I wonder how different their cultural imagery would have been, and their application of lsd, and where they would have put lsd among their sacred plants. (I know that area is way too humid for acid but this is just a random wondering of mine while baked.)
That would have been fuckin tite! I would love to see their experiences translated into art and healing ceremonies.
I'm enjoying your conversation about LSD in Peru and all... But that photo. My front yard when I lived in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada would actually look like that in the spring with the redbud trees and lupine in bloom... Without LSD.
Well traditional Shamans are all about the nature and the plants such as Ayahuasca. I do not know how they would feel about a artificial chemical even if it did also give similar effects simply because it not from nature. It is an interesting question. If LSD had somehow been present in nature for many generation's the way DMT is, I do think they would have a tradition of using it. I have seen allot new age "shamens" in America who are more willing to accept the man made chemicals like LSD.
They smoke natural tobacco, which they consider to be the child of ayahuascha, and they communicate with mystical women in the forest and fluorescent, multicolored serpents. They occasionally use smoked datura to enhance the trips. They also heal illnesses by using tobacco to attract maninkaril, spirits that teach them how to cure sickness. I don't know that it would be an improvement from what they have, as LSD has been considered something of a pseudo-hallucinogen, in that those who are dosed see hallucinations but know they're the effect of the drug. DMT, on the other hand, is more of a true hallucinogen, in that the hallucinations can convincingly displace sober reality. Well, this is just what I read. I've never taken LSD or DMT, so I wouldn't know from experience.
Someone told me that an indigenous tribe was given 2c-b and actually preferred it over their own sacred native plant. Does anyone know anything about this? if you can give me a link that would be awesome.
